He gritted his teeth, his face a mask. He was emotionless. He had no feelings.
That's what he kept telling himself, anyways.
Draco bit back a bitter response and settled on sneering at Potter instead. He couldn't do this right now. His insides felt like breaking, his mask was slipping. All the tears he had held back were threatening to break loose, to spill down his cheeks. The familiar feeling built up inside him, his head throbbing, his heart clenching, he knew he was going to break any moment.
"What are you going to do, Malfoy? Tell your father on me?" the boy with the raven hair laughed in front of him, and was soon joined by his sidekick, Weasley. Draco bit his lip to keep it from trembling.
Why would I want to do that? What kind of insane person runs towards a fear?
"At least I have a father to go to, Potter," the blonde spat, and he watched as his nemesis' face fell a fraction of an inch.
But wouldn't I rather have no father at all then have one like mine?
Draco wished that people could see that. He wished that Potter could see; Draco's life was far from perfect. He wished that he could switch lives with someone else, have them have a family like his and stay in the Manor, but at the same time, he didn't. No, he thought to himself, he didn't. They wouldn't survive.
