The following takes place post Doomsday but before Smith and Jones. It's really short and I'm sorry about that but I found it quite fun to write. Thanks for reading my ramblings :)

"Oh but this is brilliant!" The Doctor exclaimed in glee. "Not only have we got your classic case of homicidal alien, but we have some unrequited extra-terrestrial love going on as well! Oh it's Christmas, it really is."

He flicked a couple of switches in the main console room of the Tardis talking as he went, "You see, here's where he went wrong. To get the girl it's probably not best to blow up the planet on which she'd been taking refuge for the last ten years of her live. From my personal experience, it's usually a bit of a turn off."

At this he pulled a face as if remembering something he didn't particularly want to. He went on to explain "What he should have done is given her a red rose, a bottle of wine and an invite to dinner at her favourite restaurant. Speaking of it Rose, fancy some dinner? We could try that Italian place in 15th century Rome? Although, I suppose that's just a place for them…"

He turned around to face the empty Tardis and realised with a jolt that he'd done it again. He'd forgotten about the parallel universe for just one happy moment and now here he was, asking an empty room out to dinner.

He turned slowly and pressed another had to keep moving on, for her 'd find her one day but for how there were plenty more planets in the universe to save. And maybe, just maybe he could save her there too.
