Vote for Orik
"Nado has voted to increase taxes on salt and place limits on the hunting of red deer. Vote for Orik!" boomed the well-dressed dwarf on the TV screen. A gaggle of dwarf children appeared, holding signs with the same slogan.
"What is the meaning of this?" demanded Nado, as loud drum music reverberated around the room from the TV set. Every dwarf there jumped up, except for a select few who were in on his secret.
"Why, it's my new invention," replied Orik calmly, snapping his fingers. "It is called a political ad. Please, no one say anything till this is over." Everyone's eyes were riveted on the screen.
The dwarf children were replaced by a photo of a smiling Orik, accompanied by a beaming Hvedra. This was followed by a long list of his marvelous accomplishments and qualifications. Drum music played in the background.
"Orik has stood firm. His strong leadership has inspired us to take a stronger stand against Galby! Orik for King! Vote for Orik!"
After which came a number of photos showing Orik triumphant in battle. Trumpets blared, drums beat and all enemies were swept away by the conqueror.
Next came a decidedly bad photo of a scowling Nado with a list of his terrible and pathetic deeds.
"Nado has proved himself a failure in foreign policy and has shown that he is unable to cope with the national defense! He is ineffectual for such times!"
Then it switched to a video clip of Orik giving a speech.
"Cast your vote NOW!" he declared."This is no time for delay!" The huge crowd of dwarves in front of him cheered.
"And now, a word from your local station, Tronjheim TV. Bringing the best in dwarf television for over 1000 years!"
This was followed by a commercial for a resort in the Beors and a trailer for the new movie NinjaDwarves.
"Down with Nado" (thumbs down) "Up with Orik!" flashed across the screen (thumbs up). "Vote for Orik!" appeared before the screen faded to black.
"Hooray!" cheered all the dwarves in the room, except for Nado, who was scowling.
"Your new invention is horrible!" he growled.
"No, it's a hit!" cheered the rest of the dwarves.
