The early morning rains had washed away the grime and smog that normally lay like a blanket over the city leaving the morning crisp, and fresh.
He was oblivious to it all as he walked across the grass his eyes only on his destination. Upon reaching it his eyes roamed everywhere; the trees, the squirrels playing hide and seek in the too tall grass, everywhere except his reason for being there.
"Have you ever noticed Hutch, how everything seems new after the rain. Like it washes all the dirt and bad stuff away a clean slate to start over again….."
Starsky let the words fade away as he knelt down running his hand across the name carved in the cold hard stone
