One thing before you read this fanfic:
It's a Sonic story, that belongs to my own 'Season', which is called Sonic X U. Future. There're several versions of this story. But every version is about the usual Sonic X characters and and my fan chara Mariah Acorn, a hedgehog girl, that comes from another dimension.
In this Version Mariah is the guardian of one of the five Mystic Emeralds, which exist in her world. Every Emerald controls one of the elements fire, water, light, darkness and nature. Mariah is the guardian of the light powered emerald.
Some time ago the emeralds turned crazy and Mariah was taken into Sonics world by Chaos Control. In his world Eggman had just stolen the seven Chaos Emeralds and was going to rule the world.
Together with his friends and Mariah Sonic beat him again and safed the world. After that Mariah had to go back into her dimension to the Mystic Emerald.

On a quite calm night it was pretty warm and peaceful out. The moon was giving it's low and pretty glow on the hill ligting up the forest. It was pretty late at night and at a small house on a hill near the Mystic Emerald altar the lights are still on. Mariah sat at her desk and read a book.
„It's so lonely and boring here!", she said and sighed slightly. She just read a last section in her book. „Maybe I have some friends here, too but..."
A slightly 'meow' came from the direction of her bed. There Mariah's little chao Harmony laid and purred like a cat.
"Yeah! You are well, no?", she asked with a smile. She looked at a photo on the wall above her desk and became sad. It was a photo of her, Sonic and his friends. "I want to go back to them...", she said sadly to herself, „...but I can't."
Sonic sat on the couch in Tails' house and ate an apple. Being bored, he stuck a finger in his ear.
"Sonic, that is so disgusting! Why can't you act a little more normal?" As usual Amy got upset about Sonic's behaviour but he just ignored her complaints.
Meanwhile Cream was sitting on the floor and drawing a picture. Tails himself was in his laboratory.
Sonic looked to Cream to see what she was drawing. He recognized himself, Cream and Cheese and someone else. A violet hedgehog girl with a lavender colored cat-similar chao. It was Mariah with her chao Harmony.
"I miss Mariah!" Cream said to Sonic. She had noticed that he was looking to her.
"I think we all feel like that!" Sonic replied.
"Do you like her very much?" Cream asked Sonic.
Sonic was a bit surprised and shocked that Cream asked him such a question. You could misunderstand very easily, especially if Amy was close to them. He noticed that Amy had looked at him. She was paying very close attention to what he was saying, trying to make sure he didn't say anything wrong.
"Yes! Just like like a good buddy!"
He noticed that Amy stopped looking at him and had to take care not to heave a loud sigh of relief?
Mariah stood in front of the Mystic Emerald and was thinking. "I wish I could go back to them... but I can't leave the Mystic Emerald alone! It would be too dangerous!"
