The wind gusted around Wanda, blowing her hair in her face. She straightened her jacket with one hand and then glanced at the bouquet of flowers she held in the other. The Vision had given them to her right before she left.
"You know what they're for." He had said. Twelve scarlet roses in total. Wanda smiled.
"Today was a good day. You know that?" She sat down and leaned backwards, poking the dirt with her boot. "The Captain and Stark got in another argument again, but Natalia and Sam broke it up by suggesting they kiss already."
She chuckled a little, watching dead leaves whirl around in their tiny, frantic circles. "And then Rogers was sulky, so Sam followed him around playing the Star Spangled Man with a Plan. And Barton hid in the air vents and scared Stark when he walked past.
"Did you know that Sam got beat up by a petty thief? He didn't want to tell me, but I found out….like I do. Yeah, a thief named Lang."
Wanda laughed again, remembering how she had found him groveling before Stark and begging him to fix his wing pack before Steve returned.
"How'd you break it?" Tony had asked, aghast.
"I didn't break it!" Sam protested, "Just stop asking questions! Can you fix it or no?"
"Not until I find out how you broke it."
"I don't wanna talk about it."
"Why?" Wanda had asked slyly, "Is something bugging you?"
Wanda leaned her head back and closed her eyes. "But I really wanted to tell you about the—"
"Wanda?" The sudden intrusion made her jump.
"Barton." She nodded politely.
"Cap's back. Wants to see you."
"Okay."
Clint hesitated. "You alright?"
She nodded again.
"Pink Thor give you those flowers?"
"Yes…..but they're for Pietro." She stood up and placed her hand on the sun-warmed headstone she had been leaning against.
Clint didn't say anything, but placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Twelve roses…..because he's twelve minutes older than me."
"Hey, if you wanted a few minutes alone, I can tell Cap. I'm sure he'd understand."
"No, I'll come back later."
Wanda stared down on the grave again and then bent to lay the flowers down. "It's been a long day." She said quietly, "And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again."
