AUTHOR'S NOTE: Ahh.. my first story. I hope you like this! Please tell me what you think about this!

The feeling.. of being alone. That is something I hated. Something I truly despised. But, that is something that I can never outrun. It was that day, the day of joyous wonders that turned my fear of being alone come to life. It was the day.. the Valkyries returned.

Day 01/01/XXXX Time: 22:46pm

In the empty streets of the city Silverkeep, nobody was here anymore. They were obliterated. The thought of that came across my mind every time I visit some place that will and always be deserted. I hum to myself as I strolled down the street. I looked around in my surroundings and spotted still-lit decors. I wasn't sure why this town especially had their lights on. Most towns I found were dead. No lights at all.

What was today? Is something special today? Certainly it isn't my birthday.

I moved on and looked up toward the sky. I started to feel a bit sad. The sky was so empty, just like everybody here in this damn planet. "Where are the stars?" I said to myself. Suddenly, I heard a thunderous sound echoing from a distance. I quickly ran to the nearest building to spot where and what the sound was coming from. The feeling of remembrance came to my mind. As I kept running up the stairs towards the roof of the building, my head started replaying the last memories that had tormented me in my time of loneliness. The memories of death.

Not now, not now! That isn't my priority right now! Stop thinking for a goddamn second and figure out what was that sound!

I shaked my head and burst open the metal door to the roof. I quickly grabbed my binoculars and circled around.

BOOM

"Where is that coming from?!" I yelled, feeling panicked.

BOOM

I quickly scanned towards my right and saw something utterly terrifying. I dropped my binoculars and fell to the ground. My head started to swirl, remembering the massacre of the Valkyries. I struggled getting back up and lifted myself to see what happened to the sound.

"Wh-where did i-it g-go? I said to myself. I grabbed my canteen and drank multiple gulps of water trying to calm myself. As I was putting it back, a sudden force of metal and rubble flew. I flew backwards from the impact, hurting myself in the process. Blood ran down my face and my knees. I was hurting so much that I couldn't move. My eyes were closed hard, the debre got into my eyes. I rubbed my eyes and slowly opened them. This thing in front of me was extremely enormous. I looked up following its structure. It's metallic armor shined and I immediately knew what it was. In its right hand, it held a sword. Blood was dripping down from it. It looked like it was on a killing spree. In its left hand it held a shield. Their emblem was engraved on it. It showed two wings with a skull in the middle. Thorny vines were enveloping it. Feeling nauseous, I threw up. I can't believe this was happening.

"How the hell did you find me you bastard!?" It's eyes glowed icy blue. I knew what it meant. It was time to meet my end.

How? Was it tracking me? That's impossible!

I laid there, waiting to meet my end. Still looking up, I said one last thing before I passed out.

"Ha.. damn you Valkyrie."
