Chapter One:

"Night, mom. I love you!" I said before heading upstairs for bed.

"Love you too, honey!" she replied.

I brushed my teeth, changed into some comfy pajamas, then curled up in my bed.

…

I woke to the sun light blaring in my eyes. 'that's weird… I thought I closed my curtains last night. Mom must have opened them early.' I thought.

Rubbing my eyes, I sat up. 'Funny… I thought my bed was softer than this…" I opened my eyes and looked down at my bed. 'Grass?' I wasn't sure what was going on… I know I went to bed in my own bed last night…

"Who are you?" I jumped when I heard a boy's voice. I turned and found myself looking up at a red haired male in khaki cargo pants and loose t-shirt. I scrunched my eyebrows. 'he looks like Kyo…' I thought.

"I'm Kimi." I answered after a moment. "Who are you?" I asked.

He looked at me for a second. "what are you doing out here, on the ground, by yourself?"

"I felt like enjoying nature…" I deadpanned. "I don't know. I went to bed last night in my bed but I woke up this morning to… this."

"Well you're on Sohma property, so you'd better scram." He said rudely and walked away. After waiting a few seconds, I followed him.

"Why are you following me?!" he shouted at me as he spun around sharply.

I jumped back in surprise.

"Who are you?!" he bellowed from right in front of me.

"I told you, I'm Kimi—"

"But what are you doing here?" he asked.

"Oh, who is this?" someone asked from the house. I turned my head and my eyes widened at the figure that was Shigure. I grinned at one of my favourite characters.

"I'm Kimi." I said kindly.

"I am Shigure Sohma. Kyo, since when have you brought cute girls home with you?" he winked at me. I felt my traitorous face heat up.

"I didn't! She followed me! I found her in the woods and she wouldn't tell me why she was there…" Kyo protested.

"I guess… I've got a little bit of explaining..." I mumbled.

"Duh." He said. I sighed.

"Well… I went to bed last night in my own bed, but when I woke up, I was lying on the ground in a forest I have never been to." I explained simply.

Shigure looked to be in deep thought, so I continued.

"Also… where I come from… you all are characters in a manga and anime…"

Shigure snapped his fingers. "That answers everything!" he exclaimed, making me jump slightly.

"What? What does?" I asked, puzzled.

"I take it, then, that you know about the curse?" he added. Kyo shot him a look of disbelief.

"Yes… is that going to be a problem?" I frowned.

Shigure walked over to me, making me look up at him curiously. Before I said anything more, he engulfed me in a hug.

Now, me being me, and meeting my favourite character from Fruits Basket, I would love this! But after this whole ordeal, I was simply shocked. Not to mention my surprise when there was no poof of smoke, nor any dog in front of me when Shigure pulled back.

I blinked a few times. "Well… that's weird…" I stuttered.

"I think now is a good time for an explanation." A different voice said.

We all spun around to see none other than Yuki standing on the porch with an eyebrow raised; clearly as confused as me.

"Yes, I agree." Shigure stated. He moved us all into the den and told us to sit. For once, he was serious.

"This is the story of the wolf;

"The animals at the banquet were laughing and having fun. As god knew, the cat was nowhere to be seen. But regardless, it was a fun time for all of them. Soon, there was a knock at the door. The cow answered it and saw someone he had never seen before. It was the wolf; a beautiful creature. The cow was about to turn her away, but god told her to come in. you see, the wolf and god were best friends. Almost sister and brother. Wolf loved god and they were very close.

"When she came in, all the attention was turned to her. Some people smiled at her as she made her way to god, others glared. In fact, only one glared; the rat. The rat hated the wolf because of her relationship with god. When she got to her friend, god grinned at her.

"'Welcome, wolf. It has been too long.' He said to her."

"Yes it has. I am sorry I am late. I had somewhere I had to be before I came here." Wolf said, bowing her head.

"As long as you are here now. I am fine with it."

"That's just it… I have to go… I won't be back for some time… I have been called away and won't be back for a while. But I promise I will return." She frowned as a tear slipped down her cheek.

"I will miss you my dearest friend." god said. With that, wolf left.

"It was many, many years till she returned. But she did. This time hardened god's heart. How could she leave him? After all he had done for her. Finally, she came back and god was pleased. Even though he had been cruel to everyone, her being back changed his heart and all was made right."

"So wait… are you saying… I'm supposed to be this… wolf?" I asked. "I've never even been here…"

"I agree with miss Kimi." Yuki said.

Shigure smirked. "Are you sure you've never been here before, Kimi?"

I mean, yeah I am sure… wait… there was the fuzzy time in my memories where I don't remember much… But that couldn't be it. Without realizing it, I had said that out loud.

"I believe I have an answer for that… You know who Hatori is, correct? From the anime?" Shigure prompted. I nodded. "So you know what he does?" I hesitated, and that's when it dawned on me.

"That little jerk…" I muttered in shock.

Shigure chuckled. "I don't think your big brother would appreciate that." He snickered.

"But I'm an only… no I'm not…" My eyebrows scrunched together. Finally, it dawned on me. My brother… was…

"Akito!"
