All rights belong to Michael Grant who created the Gone series. (I almost forgot to put that). Astrid will play an important part in this story, hence why I put her in the summary. I think this story goes really good when you listen to Where is My Mind – Sucker Punch version. Well please review.
Astrid
I had to get away.
I had to get away, get away from the pain and the guilt that ate at me every time I thought about my little brother. My dead little brother. It didn't help that Sam had left town and what was worse was that I saw him leave with Diana.
It should have been me instead of her. What was Diana doing there anyway?
I blocked the thoughts out of my head, but whenever I tried to focus on something else it just made me more depressed. I had to get out of here, I had to get out of Perido Beach. But where was I going to go.
Maybe I'll follow Sam, not so I can stay at the lake with him, that would be too much pain, too much memories. Just maybe I can follow him and then travel further than the lake , it would be better than traveling past the mine in the dark by myself. I packed all the food and water in sight and throw in some extra stuff.
As I see them start to leave town, I follow at a safe distance.
5 hours later, just when I feel like my arms and legs are about to fall off, they take a break. We already passed the mine and the power plant, we were getting close to our destination. I could feel it.
I looked all around me for a place to rest my tired eyes and as I was looking to my left I saw a house of some sort in the distance. The house seemed off , like it use not be there.
This was my chance, to leave and forget. To forget Sam and leave behind the guilt of my little brother. I forced my eyes open and went towards the house.
It was starting to get dark outside, so I pulled out my flashlight. It was pitch black when I reached the mysterious house and my mouth dropped in awe as I saw how beautiful it was.
There were roses, apple trees, and grape wines in the front and back yard. It had a nice, long, and white picket fence to surround the three-story home. It was truly something out of a picture.
I made my way towards the gate still in a daze. I get to the door and surprisingly it's not lock. Who wouldn't lock the doors to such a masterpiece-of-a-house.
"Hello," I say as I walk in "Is anyone in here?" I pray silently that whoever owns this house isn't some sort of monster or worse, Drake.
"Hello." I say once again
"Who is it? Is-is-is-is it a boy?" I hear a stuttering voice ask and I notice it belongs to a girl.
"Uhm it's a girl, my name is Astrid." I wonder why she was so intent on knowing a guest's gender, when she should be asking what I was doing there.
I hear her come down the stairs and I see her gorgeous flowing auburn hair and then I see her face.
And God, please forgive me
But this girl was undeniably
UGLY.
Once again please review and post your thoughts
