This fanfic is actually based on real events since I wrote most of the stories while making my way through Europe.

Disclaimer: Detective Conan doesn't belong to me, neither do the characters. If they would, we all knew how DC ended.

„Fuck KLM!"

He was close to flipping them off but it was no use anyway.

Frustrated, he gritted his teeth, earning a funny but concerned look by his accompaniment.

„Calm down, Kudo-kun," she whispered in Japanese, placing a hand on his upper arm.

„Let's go to the counter and ask them to get us seats on the next flight."

The plane was supposed to take them to Amsterdam Schiphol, their first actual stop in Europe. Their first stop of their last … adventure.

It was supposed to be perfect, the best Farewell present ever. And they just ruined it!

„Sorry, but the next flight will be in a few hours. Would you mind waiting here?"

„Ye-"

„No, of course not. Thanks."

What a flawless accent. She perfected her British English in just a week, making him look like a fool. That's what she'd always done and to be quite honest, he was going to miss it. A lot.

„We can talk, if you'd like."

„What about exactly?"

„This. London."

Me not coming back to Tokyo with you …

It was left unsaid and simply thinking about it made his head spin. He wasn't ready to lose ehr. He would never be ready for it.

„Sure, let's talk~"

„You seem upset. Is this really just about a missed flight?"

Wow, when did she become so blunt?

„I'm just ..," he was looking for the right thing to say which was rare, especially for him, „I'm going to miss having you around. We're like Holmes and Watson, can you imagine what he'd be like without his partner?"

„Probably … pretty lonely."

It made his heart ache because it was true. Bus he had pushed these thoughts and feelings away, not wanting to admit he would be lost without her. As usual, his pride got the best of him but if he was being honest, he didn't think there was anything in the world that would've made her stay. She said so herself – She needed to leave to find herself. And Japan didn't feel like home anymore – actually never had – after all the loved one she had lost. She couldn't stand the thought of losing someone else and „You're still a death magnet after all. It's only a matter of time until Death takes you."

He had laughed back then but deep down he knew she was right and it hurt like hell.

„I need this to be perfect because … I don't want you to forget."

About me, our adventures, our victories and losses, about our partnership.

It was a silent plea, a silent „You're so important to me" and he just hoped she got it.

„It's hard to forget about the past ten years, Kudo-kun."

Because I love you and care about you almost as deep as I cared – still care – about my sister. How could I ever forget about you?

His hand found hers, softly squeezing it while trying to put on a brave face for her.

„I promise you won't forget about our trip either. Let's make it memorable."
