"Would Sam do…this?" Melanie asked, pressing her lips gently against his.
Freddie looked around in shock, "You swore we'd never do that again!!"
"Who did?"
"You! Sam!!" He insisted.
She groaned, "Freddie, I'm not Sam! Even after kissing you, you still don't believe me? Why? Is that something Sam would do?"
"W-well, maybe! Just to prove I'm gullible and I won't let her fool me again! I mean you! I know it's you in there, Sam!" He knocked lightly on her forehead.
"Any other way I can prove I'm not?"
Suddenly, a smile crept onto Freddie's lips. If Sam was gonna keep this up, he was gonna have some fun, "Make out with me."
"Gladly."
She forced him closer to her, kissing him hard. Slowly, her tongue found its' way inside his mouth as he ran a hand through her hair and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist. It was like a dream for him and although, he desperately wanted to believe this was really his beloved best friend, he knew he couldn't hold on to that fantasy much longer.
After a good long spit-swap, Melanie pulled away, "There. Now either you believe me or you happen to like Sam."
"Can you keep a secret?"
"Sure," The blonde answered sweetly.
"I do," He admitted shyly.
"Wait, which one?"
"Both," He confirmed, walking away.
------
"Ugh, it's you!" Freddie grumbled.
"Yeah, like seeing your face freshens up my day!" Sam fired back.
"So, how was your date with Melanie?" Carly wondered.
"Yeah, are you convinced yet?" Added Sam.
Suddenly, Freddie felt suspicious. He no longer believed that Melanie didn't exist but wasn't willing to admit it just yet. So, he decided to say, "Look, I told you. I'm not that gullible! I wasn't convinced then and I'm not convinced now so spare yourself the trouble and just admit that I'm right, you made the whole thing up, and there's no Melanie!!"
Carly rolled her eyes, "Look, Fre—"
"Fine! This has gone on long enough. You'll dress like up a clown for school but this time, I guess we went too far. You're right. We made the whole thing up. There's no Melanie."
Freddie eyes doubled in size. He hadn't actually expected that now, "Woah, wait, what?? No Melanie?!? So, you're saying you were the one who danced with me and kissed me and heard me say I liked you!?"
Just then, the elevator opened up and standing there was Sam's twin, Melanie.
"Noo, I'm saying I was sick of trying to persuade you but thanks for sharing, Freddork." And with that, her and a dumbfounded Carly joined Melanie in the elevator and left.

The next night, Sam joined Freddie up on his balcony again. He hadn't shown up at school that day and she'd figured it was because of what had happened the day before. When he saw her, he just stared. The last thing he'd said to her was that he liked her and now, he had no idea how to follow that up. So, Sam finally thought of something to break the silence.
"So, you finally did believe I had a twin?"
"Yeah…eventually."
"Yet, you were so easily swayed back?" She got no reply, "You really thought I'd make out with you until you were convinced, then, laugh in your face?"
He shrugged, "I don't know…I guess not."
"Besides, you should've known after just one kiss. She kisses her way and I kiss like---" She brought her lips to his and kissed him a way only Sam could. She brushed her thumb against his lips and smirked. "So, nope. Melanie definitely wasn't me…" She backed away, about to leave, before adding, "But you know what? …I kind of wish she was."
