She started wrapping the presents after tucking Calvin in. It was wonderful, to her, being so close to Christmas and having someone to spend it with. Her apartment seemed to be bursting at the seams with happiness, laughter, and love. It had been a couple days since Vivian had left Calvin in her care completely but it had felt like years. It didn't bother Olivia in the slightest, in fact she embraced it with welcome arms. She loved making breakfast, lunch, and dinner for someone other then herself. She loved that someone actually asked about her day at work and cared. She loved that when she was at home she wasn't alone. But most of all she loved how Calvin seemed to need her around. She had never experienced anything like it before but, now that she had, she knew she couldn't let this small "family," be broken up. She changed into her pajamas before getting a cup of coffee and some presents. She had to start wrapping because Christmas was charging right for her. As the detective, wearing a large grin, sat down on her couch and started wrapping a drum set for the Rock Band game her cell phone went off.
"Benson." She greeted and finished taping one end of the box. "Hey Liv. I think you should get over here. There's someone here who wants to talk to you. ASAP." Her partner said and she sighed "Okay, I'll bring over the presents for your kids and I guess, I mean I can, bring over your present too. Just give me a bit to get Cal's sitter over." She said and hung up, getting dressed, and then checking on Calvin who was still asleep- thankfully- before calling the sitter, Gracie.
After promising to pay more then usual for Gracie, Olivia Benson put the presents in the back of her Mustang before driving to see Elliot Stabler.
She knocked on the door, shivering slightly in the snow, while clutching onto two bags of gifts. She smiled at Elliot who held open the door. "Alright. You tore me away from playing Santa for what reason again?" She asked, setting the bags down, and taking off her jacket and scarf. Elliot's eyes shifted to look over her shoulder at someone else. She turned slowly and saw a tall blonde seated on his couch.
She slowly scanned from the woman's sneakers, to her jeans, to her sweater, to the porcelain like hands wrapped around a coffee cup, to her bruised and beaten face. There were cuts on her face, her lip was swollen, and her eyes were blackened. Both of them. She saw the fierce blue color of her eyes but then saw that they were filled with tears. There was a very faint, weak, and scared smile before she began to cry. Olivia's eyes grew wide and her mouth opened in shock before she managed to whisper "Alex?" only to hear more sobs coming from the shaking woman on the couch.
