Dean maneuvered Sam over to the motel room's farther bed. "Lie down," he ordered, disappearing into the bathroom. He returned, setting a bucket of warm, soapy water on the nightstand. "Close your eyes." Grabbing a wrung-out washcloth, he cleared the Bloody Mary-induced crimson off Sam's face.
Sam's eyelashes fluttered. "Tickles," he grumbled. "You're dripping all over me."
"Wait here." Dean rummaged in their first aid kit, emerging with cottonballs. Gently, he dabbed his unprotesting brother's face clean.
Sam rose, indicating Dean's bed. "Your turn."
Almost protesting that he'd clean himself up, Dean realized he didn't have to: Sammy was back.
