Only for a second

Another poem guys. Just bare with me. Of course to do with Cloud and Tifa.

I could feel the darkness grip my heart,

Wrap it's clawed fingers and dig deep into my soul.

It reached down and dug out my light,

Every memory I had left of you.

I could feel myself fading, slipping away,

Each passing second growing weaker.

It pulled me down into depths I couldn't escape.

My eyelids grew heavy and began to close...

And then you called my name.

I began to fight back.

I faught running upwards,

Into the light at the end of the tunnel.

I heard you call again,

And it gave me more strength.

Then I was surrounded by a radiant light.

Something that filled my whole body with warmth.

And there you were,

Smiling at me.

If only for a second.

Goodbye...

Even though you're not here now I'll always remember you,

I'll always love you.
