Chapter 1
Tara POV
Hi! My name is Tara, and I'm from the United States. I won't tell you where because that's private. Anyways, I'm 15, and I love to sing! I have an alto/soprano voice, and I reckon I'm not too shabby. I recently got accepted to a summer camp called Acapella Academy, on a full ride scholarship. Which I'm very glad of because I wouldn't be able to go otherwise. There's a lot of issues in my house. My mum passed away when I was 10 and my step dad is always drunk and high. Never a good combo...
Back to Acapella Academy. I'm really excited about it because I will get to meet one of my favorite bands of all time- Pentatonix! I'm a die hard Pentaholic, and my favorite song is their Swedish House Mafia mashup The trio's harmonies are perfect and with Avi and Kevin in the background, the song is just heaven. I've been obsessed with them since I watched the sing off back in 2011, before my step smashed the tv in another one of his drunk rages.
The camp is in a week, and I honestly can't wait. I'm packing all my gear, and getting on the plane Saturday afternoon. It's not a long flight, but if they pay for it, I'll take it! I honestly can't wait to meet everyone there. This is going to be the best camp ever! Especially one where my talents aren't ignored.
