Chapter 1: The Vixen in the woods.

An unsettling silence filled the dank air within the confines of a cell. Two pokemon rested on the hard stone floor, visible only by a dying light coming from the other side of the bars. An absol lied unconscious in the back corner of the cell, with its pure white fur tainted by the dim flicker of the radiance. He let out a raspy groan as he opened and revealed his red eyes. The creature lifted his head causing his sickle-shaped horn to emerge into what was left of the illumination, and took in his surroundings, only to discover his bandaged shoulder, and the other creature in the cell with him.

"Rin, I was worried about you. You've been out for a while," a gloomy voice said from across the cell. The absol looked towards the shadows of the room to see two crimson eyes staring at him, but the eyes had a gentle nature to them. They didn't feel the least bit ominous or threatening. The creature placed one foot out of the shadows and revealed her black paw.

The absol cleared his throat as he tried to focus in on the creature in the shadows, "Where's Nila and Sebastian?" the absol known as Rin questioned as he tried to fight off the pulsing pain that throbbed in his head.

The creature let out a sigh as it emerged from the shadows. The canine like creature walked on all fours, and on each of its limbs it had a golden ring, as well as one on its tail and both ears, along with another that was centered on her forehead. Secured around the creature's neck was a red bandana, which seemed unscathed compared to the rest of her body that was covered in cuts and bruises.

"Blair, where is Sebastian and Nila?" the absol questioned the umbreon again.

"It's all her fault," the umbreon said in a hushed voice that lacked any form of happiness or hope, "This is all that zorua's fault!" the umbreon suddenly screamed as tears began to stream from her eyes, "We should have known better than to trust her," the umbreon continued on as she clenched her eyes shut and dug her claws into the concrete ground.

The absol lowered his gaze to the ground as he tried to think of something to say to help his friend, but there was nothing that came to mind other than to watch in silence. Thoughts began to replay themselves from the previous night in Rin's head. So much has happened, and so many questions have come up. But the question that Rin pondered the most was: What was that zorua's relation with those killers? And why were they so desperate to get her?

Three days earlier

I aimlessly wandered through a big open field of white lilies. I wasn't quite sure on why I was here or how I got here either. The field of white lilies went on for as far as my eyes could see. My vision gazed upward into the sky, where I saw a full moon and all the stars that were painted onto the black canvas. All the lilies in this neverending field emitted a peculiar glow that seemed unworldly, like something I've never seen before. Along with the flowers producing light, there were also small specks of white light floating in the air, creating a dreamlike spectacle. Perhaps this was a dream. When I thought about it, this all seemed familiar to me, but I couldn't quite recall why.

I continued to walk through the field until a strong gust of wind blew, and a storm of white flower petals blinded me. The gale of wind stopped almost as fast as it came. Afterwards, the flower petals slowly fluttered to the ground. Something was revealed as the flower petals cleared up. My eyes widened as I stared at another absol like myself. I stared in amazement as I took in her physical features. Her body was slender, yet she didn't look weak at the same time. She was a bit smaller than the average absol, just like myself. Everything about her looked like an identical copy of me, except for the fact that we were opposite genders.

The absol looked towards the ground with a melancholic look. "Rin," the absol whispered in a gentle voice that seemed to echo throughout this open plain of flowers.

"H-How do you know me-" I began to question until I looked towards her feet. The flowers around this absol were withering away, and the once white petals were slowly becoming a charcoal black that seemed to spread throughout the flowers like cancer.

The absol let of a sigh as she looked up towards me, but she still averted from making eye contact, "You're impure, just like me," the absol stated as she finally made eye contact with me, and she began walking towards me. I took a step back as I noticed the wake of dying flowers that followed behind her.

"Impure? What is that suppos-"

"Shhh, don't talk," the absol interrupted, "I can't help but wonder if you'll end up like me, or maybe things will be different this time? Regardless, it hurts to see the same thing happening over and over, I really am bound to a horrible fate, aren't I?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked in confusion. The absol just remained silent, until she finally made eye contact with me.

"There is something you need to know," the absol said.

"What?"

"Rin," a different voice echoes throughout the entire plain of flowers. I looked around in confusion as I tried to remember where I've heard that voice from.

"Rin, come on," The voice called out to me again. "Wake up already before I grab a blow horn!" the voice screamed even louder, and everything began to feel distant.

My eye sprang open as I quickly sprung up, but my head met with something solid and I fell back down with a ringing migraine.

"Ow, watch what you're doing, that really hurt!" the umbreon pouted as she clenched her eyes shut and tried to cope with the pain from the head collision.

"Then don't scare me like that!" I groaned as my head throbbed in pain. After a moment, the pain subsided and I pulled myself off the cushion on the ground.

"Jeez, you could have taken my eye out or something with that horn," the umbreon pouted.

I took a moment to look at the umbreon, she sat there rubbing her sore noggin, "Sorry, Blair," I ruefully responded as I saw her point.

"It's alright, maybe I overreacted a bit, just be tad more careful in the future," she responded with a cheerful smirk as she held her hand over the ground to measure the tad bit she was talking about.

"Yeah, sure," I said with a nod, "But why are you waking me up so early?" I said with a groggy yawn as I got up and began to stretch out my body.

"Rin, it's like, noon… I think that's a bit late," Blair responded.

"Crud, why does this always happen?!" I said in shock as I made my way out of the room and headed downstairs in a hurry.

"Hey, why are you in such a hurry?" Blair called out as she followed me downstairs.

"No reason, I just need to stop sleeping that late, it's getting worse and worse, soon I'll be waking up at night," I answered once I was downstairs in the main hall. As I made my way through the house, my ears picked something up in the kitchen, so I went to investigate to see if it was what I thought it was. Once in the kitchen, I saw our human making a sandwich of some kind. At the moment he was cutting up some veggies to place in the sandwich. The human had on a blue button up shirt and some black khakis. The man was about in his mid thirties, and his hair was a dark brown that was combed back in a way that made him look professional.

"Morni- er umm, good afternoon," I said as I caught my error.

"Hey, you're up early," Sebastian responded with a sarcastic grin as he waved one of his hands at me. Of course Sebastian couldn't understand me, but he was usually able to get the gist of what I was saying, most of the time.

Anyways," Sebastian began to say as he put his finished sandwich in a paper bag, "I'd love to stay, but I got to get back to the clinic, I was just stopping by to make lunch quick," Sebastian said as he made his way towards the door.

"Leaving already?" Blair said in disappointment as she sat at the bottom of the stairs that was right next to the front door. Blair's ears lowered a bit as Sebastian made his way towards the door.

"I'll be back later tonight girl, I'll see you two then, just don't get in trouble till then," Sebastian said as he rubbed his fingers on the top of Blair's head and the umbreon leaned into him with affection as she nuzzled against him.

"See ya, Seb," Blair said with a smile. After those words were spoken, Sebastian was gone and on his way to the small clinic he ran. Blair and Sebastian had a very deep bond, I could tell that Blair loved Sebastian with all of her heart, which would make sense, she knew him way longer then I have.

"Well, now what?" I asked Blair as I made my way towards her from across the house.

"Hmmm, why don't we just go out and go for a walk in the woods, it's actually really nice out today," Blair stated.

"A walk?" I repeated as I thought about the idea for a moment, "Well, not like I have anything better to do," I admitted with a shrug.

With an agreement on plans, the two of us made our way outside of the house, which we then started our way towards the forest that surrounded our home town. According to Blair, Oldale was a small town. I'd never really been around Hoenn that much, but Blair told me stories about these places called cities with buildings that were colossal, shops everywhere and more human and pokemon than you could count. It really sounded like an amazing place, but honestly I enjoyed keeping to myself, it kinda sounded a little crowded for me. Absol's usually preferred to live their lives in secluded areas like mountains, I guess I was an odd one for enjoying my life with Blair and Sebastian.

Blair and I walked through Oldale as we kept to ourselves. The air outside today was nice and clear, it wasn't humid, or musty as Blair described the pollution in cities. Most of the houses in Oldale were smaller and older homes, and the people that inhabited this town all worked together to help each other get by. Everyone here had their purpose, like Sebastian who ran the clinic.

"Oy, Blair, Rin," A voice called out from behind us. Blair and I both looked back to see a friend of ours, a buizel that was a bit cocky, but in no way did I view him as a bad pokemon.

"Oh, hey Eren," Blair said with a smile.

"Fancy seein' you here," Eren responded in his usual accent that I found humorous at times.

"Well, you know, we do live in the same area," I spoke to the buizel, but he ignored me as he walked towards Blair.

"So Blair, what do you say you 'n I go to the river in the woods later this evenin'?" the buizel said with a cocky smile as his brows raised in a way that made him look smug… Oh yeah, that was the one thing I never mention about Eren, the guy was constantly hitting on Blair… I mean don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to be with Blair myself, but it was very obvious that Blair wanted to keep things as friends, and not the next level.

"Oh, umm," Blair responded nervously as she looked around for an excuse, until she looked at me, "I can't, I'm, ummm, doing things with Rin today," Blair managed to reply as she pointed her paw at me anxiously.

"Oh… and what are you two doing today?" Eren asked with disappointment.

"We're going out walking around for the heck of it, you know, nothing new," Blair answered.

"I see… Well, you two have fun, I guess…" The buizel said with a disappointed voice as he walked away with his head down and his tail dragging along the ground in the most depressing way possible.

Blair let out a sigh as she watched the buizel walk away in defeat, "Hey, if you really want, you can come with Rin and me," Blair offered. Eren quickly spun around in excitement.

"Really?!"

"Yeah, just don't… don't get the wrong idea," Blair said, not sure how to say things without making him think she was interested in him like that. We were friends, or I should say Blair and Eren were friends, but Blair always tells me about the frustration between them two being friends and him viewing her the way he does.

"Sweet, let's get going then!" Eren said with pep.

Blair and I both swapped a glance as we realized how awkward this was going to be. Our trio made its way into the woods. Everything out here was so peaceful. Wild pokemon could be heard throughout the forest, but none would mess with a group of three, unless maybe they had a big pack, but that wasn't likely.

I mostly remained silent as Blair and Eren talked between each other. The two talked about their childhood together, since they knew each other from a young age.

Eren let out a loud laugh that caught my attention, "Yeah, they were so mad at us, but totally worth it," Eren said as he tried to control his laughter as he placed his hands over his mouth..

"Worth it? Maybe for you, because you're wild, Seb wouldn't let me leave the house for a week! I was on complete lockdown!" Blair exclaimed jokingly, before she calmed down, "But yeah, that was funny."

This was so freaking awkward for me. They had an infinite supply of things to talk about, all of which were on topics I didn't know about. I thought Eren was supposed to be the third wheel here, but I can't help but feel I'm the unwanted one here. The three of us made our way through the forest until we came upon a slow moving river that travelled through the forest.

"Hey, remember this place? It's where you almost drowned once," Eren said gleefully as reflected on the memories.

"You sounded way too happy when you said that," Blair said with a disturbed expression on her face.

"Well, I wasn't thinking about the drowning part, more of the part where I saved you," Eren quickly responded, "Remember, you were having trouble swimming, then I jumped in after you. You would have died if it wasn't for me," Eren said as he crossed his arms and looked at Blair with a toothy grin that was very unnecessary.

"That was so long ago, I was still an eevee at that point," Blair spoke back.

"Yeah, that was when you lived with your old huma-"

"Eren," Blair suddenly spoke sharply as she looked the buizel in the eyes.

"R-Right, sorry," Eren apologized. "Anyways," Eren said as he looked around awkwardly until his eyes looked at me, "So Ron, wasn't it around here where Blair found you that one day?" Eren asked me, probably in a desperate attempt to change the mood.

"It's Rin," I corrected him with agitation.

"Yeah-yeah, that's what I said, Rin," Eren said dismissively.

"Yeah I did meet Rin near here," Blair answered, and Eren was back to paying full attention to his crush.

It didn't take more than a few seconds for the topic to change to something completely random. But, it has been a while since we've been around this part of the forest, now that I think about it. I still remember the day Blair found me, I owe her so much, if she didn't find me, who knows where I'd be in life right now. It was a few years back that Blair found me lost in the woods, sadly I wasn't all there when she found me, and I'm still suffering from problems, which is amnesia. I don't remember anything before that day, no friends, no family, no origin, just my name. And to top things off, I gave up long ago on piecing together who I was, I've accepted a new life instead.

"Why don't we head back," Blair suggested.

"Already?" Eren said in disappointment.

"Yeah, I'd like to be back in time to see Seb after work," Blair said.

"Alright, if you say so," Eren replied.

"Rin?" Blair said as she looked at me, "Are you okay if we go?"

"Yeah, sure," I responded with a nod.

"Then let's get going," Blair responded, and the three of us started walking back. It wasn't until halfway home that something happened.

"What's that?" Blair said as she split from our group and moved towards something in a hurry..

"Blair, what is it?" Eren said, before his eyes caught what Blair saw, and he began to follow Blair with just as much concern. I followed behind the two, until I saw what they were talking about. As I followed the two, the horn on my head pulsed with a strange feeling, I didn't get these feelings often, but they usually meant danger, so I followed my friends while remaining on guard.

Beneath a tree in the shade was a strange fox like pokemon. This pokemon kinda resembled a vulpix, but it had one bushy tail instead of six, and it's fur was a slate gray, instead of orange. The fox like creature also had red fur on its paws, and red eye brows. Along with all of those features, there was also a thick coat of fur around her neck. But her appearance isn't what mattered, we were all more concerned with the wound on the creatures side that was bleeding, and looked infected.

We all tried to figure out what happened as we watched the fox on the ground tremble, almost as if she was cold, or terrified. My head cocked to the side as I curiously stared at the fox, she was the one setting off my horn, but she didn't exactly look dangerous, perhaps it had to do with what happened to her? Eren kneeled down next to the fox as he observed the wound. "It looks like a bullet wound," Eren stated.

"Well, whatever it is, she doesn't look good, we need to get her back," Blair said.

"That wouldn't be a bad idea," I responded quietly.

"Then let's get her back," Eren said as he carefully grabbed the fox and held her in his arms.

"Do you want me to carry her? I'm stronger than you," Blair asked.

"I'm stronger than I look actually," Eren protested as he began walking in the direction of Oldale, "She's actually pretty light," Eren then added in as he picked up his pace, while Blair and I both followed behind.

The three of us quickly made our way through the forest, until we were back in town. It didn't take long for us to navigate our way to the small town clinic Sebastian ran. On the way, we caught the glares of a few humans who looked shocked at what we were doing.

Our group now stood in front of the old clinic, and without any hesitation we entered. Inside was a lobby like setting, along with a check-in desk. The main room was set up so their was a bench along the wall, and a coffee table with a stack of old magazines. This clinic was a bit old, and sadly Sebastian wasn't entirely able to keep up with the maintenance.

We made our way up towards the front desk, where Sebastian was sitting in a chair that was leaned up against the wall, and he had his feet propped up on his desk as he read one of those strange book thingys.

"Sebastian!" Blair yelled at the unsuspecting human. Sebastian inhaled a startled breath as he closed his book quickly and gave his attention to us. Sebastian stared at the three of us for a moment, until he noticed the bleeding fox in Eren's arms.

"Christ, what happened?" Sebastian said with concern as he stood up and went around his desk towards Eren and picked up the injured pokemon, "I don't know what happened, but this doesn't look good," Sebastian said as he held the pokemon in his own arm, and opened a door with the other. "I'll see what I can do, either wait here, or I'll see you at home," Sebastian said as he went into the patient wing of the clinic, and closed the door behind him.

"Well, good to know he actually cares," Eren stated.

"Not all humans are bad, you know," Blair responded.

"Yeah, just all the ones that aren't constantly trying to shove me into a tiny little pokeball," Eren joked.

The two continued to converse, but I drifted off in my own thoughts. 'Why was the creature giving me this strange feeling? Like a premonition that she's dangerous?' I thought in my head. It was pretty rare that the horn on my head alerted me of danger, but I just couldn't see a pokemon that small being dangerous. She looked more like a victim to me.

"Hey Rin," Blair said, snapping me out of my trance I looked up at the umbreon to show her that I was paying attention. "I asked what you think was up with that pokemon we found?" Blair asked me.

"Ughhh," I said as I tried to figure out what I wanted to say, "I think… maybe she was hurt by hunters," I said unsurely.

One of Eren's brows rose upon hearing my response, "Isn't that exactly what I just said?" Eren questioned me.

"Ummm… I wasn't paying attention honestly," I admitted.

"Uh huh, sure," Eren joked.

Time went by in the clinic as we talked, we probably killed about an hour, give or take. We all turned as we heard a door in the back of the room creak open, and we saw Sebastian come out. We all stared at the human, and he met eyes with our gaze.

"She's alright, for now," Sebastian said as he sat down on his chair and began to drink some coffee that was on the table. "That wound was from a gunshot, luckily it wasn't to big of a bullet, or she'd be dead for sure, but, that wound was from at least three days ago. It's severely infected, and the poor thing has a serious fever," Sebastian informed us. "But, there is a problem."

"Great, there's always a catch," Eren complained as he leaned against a wall.

Sebastian took a sip of his coffee before continuing on, "I run a small town clinic for humans, not pokemon. I'm afraid I don't have the proper medications to help her. I was able to do a bit for her, but giving her anything else would be playing roulette with her life," Sebastian told us.

"So she's going to die?" Blair said in shock.

"Don't over worry yourself Blair," Sebastian said as he stood up and began walking towards us, "That pokemon will have to pull through on her own, sadly there isn't a pokecenter close enough to take her too, she wouldn't survive the trip possibly," Sebastian said, "But, that doesn't mean she can't pull through on her own, she's a zorua, from the Unova region, and she appears to be wild, so it looks like that zorua came a long way from her home region, so I'm sure she won't give in so easily," Sebastian said.

"She's foreign, just like your species, Blair," Eren pointed out.

"If I recall correctly, Buizels were brought to this region as foreigners as well," Blair responded.

"Yeah, but we're more common here than an eevee and this zorua thing Sebastian is talking about," Eren said.

'Unova huh? I wonder what a pokemon from all the way over there is doing here? 'Whatever it is, I'll have to keep an eye on her, just in case she is dangerous.'

Three days later

Three days had passed since we took the zorua into our care. Blair and I were able to visit her on the second day, but sadly she was still unconscious. More importantly, she still gave me that bad premonition. Despite the eerie feeling, the zorua remained unconscious as the poor thing shivered, tossed and turned, and groaned in agonized pain as she tried to fight through her fever.

Today, Blair and I were now going to visit her to see if she recovered. It was about mid morning now. Sebastian was currently leading us down a hall that would bring us to the zorua's room. About halfway down the hall Sebastian stopped and grabbed a ring full of keys off his belt.

"You two behave and keep it down, I don't want to wake her if she's not awake already," Sebastian said in a hushed voice as he unlocked the door and slowly pushed it open. Blair and I quietly entered the room.

Inside the room was a counter and some cabinets, along with a bunch of equipment I didn't understand. In the far back corner of the room, there was a bed, and on the bed nestled up in blankets was the zorua. The creature was no longer shivering uncontrollably, and she almost looked a bit peaceful at the moment, but I still felt on edge around her, that feeling never left me from the first moment I set my eyes on her.

"It looks like she'll make a full recovery," Sebastian said as he removed the blankets off the zorua, and revealed the bandages that were wrapped around her torso. Sebastian then began to remove the bandages, "Her fever broke last night. She seems to be fine, she'll just need some time to recover though: the bullet seems to have broken a rib," Sebastian told us as he began to apply new bandages.

"That's good," Blair said cheerfully.

"It'd be nice if you two could help her out once she's awake, after all, you two can actually talk to her, I can't," Sebastian said.

"Sure," Blair answered with a nod, "Rin and I would be happy to do that."

"I guess I don't get to answer for myself," I blurted out.

"Oh shush, it's not like we have anything better to do," Blair responded.

"Maybe I do," I replied stubbornly.

"Like what, sleeping in past noon?" Blair said with a small chuckle

"Hey!" I snapped back, "That is very important to me, plus shouldn't you be the one who sleeps in? Your species is nocturnal," I argued.

"Well I don't live in a nocturnal society, now do I?" Blair retorted, not even looked the least bit phased.

"Yeah, but I've seen umbreons that are tamed do stuff at night," I spoke back.

"Well, I'm sorry, I'm not your typical umbreon," Blair replied with a smirk, "Besides, why would I want to be like all the other lame umbreons?"

I was about to say something else, but I heard some shuffling around and a groan in the room. Blair and I both glanced at each other for a moment, before we both turned towards the zorua. Her groggy eyes managed to slowly open, revealing her blue eyes. The zorua looked really dazed for a moment, until her eyes widened. The zorua quickly tried springing to her feet, but Sebastian responded in an instant, and held the zorua down. The zorua clawed and kicked as she resisted Sebastian.

"Let me go, let me go, please!" the zorua screamed in terror as she tried to break free. "Please, just leave me alone!" The zorua continued to scream as she resisted Sebastian, it appeared as if she had no idea what was going on.

"It's okay, we're not going to hurt you, please calm down," Sebastian reasoned with the zorua as he held her down. The zorua continued to fight for a few more seconds, but she ran out of strength and she lied limply on the bed as tears streamed from her eyes.

Sebastian kneeled down, but kept one of his hands that were now covered in bloody scratches on the zorua just in case. "Hey it's okay, you're in a clinic in Oldale, I promise we're not going to hurt you," Sebastian gently told the zorua. "Rin, Blair, can you two help?"

I hung back as Blair went to the base of the bed and stood up on her hind legs, placing her forepaws on the bed to help keep her balanced.

"Hey, Sebastian isn't lying, we don't mean you any harm, I promise," Blair told the zorua. The zorua froze up as she stared into Blair's red eyes. Sebastian released his hand off the zorua, and luckily the zorua remained in place.

"Who are you?" the zorua quietly asked in a weak voice that exhibited her exhaustion.

"my name is Blair, the human is Sebastian, but I call him Seb for short sometimes, and the big ball of fur back there is Rin," Blair told the vixen, "Would you mind telling us your name?"

The zorua remained silent for a bit, she just stared at the umbreon with a hollow stare, almost as if she had very little life left in her. "Nila," The zorua answered.

"Hmm, I haven't heard a name like that before, but it sounds cute." The zorua Nila turned her head from the comment.

"Can I just leave now? I never asked for your help," Nila muttered weakly.

"I don't know about that," Blair argued with Nila.

"I would have pulled through," The zorua spat out with a bit of energy, as she attempted to pull herself up. But she let out a whimper as she fell back down on the bed.

"See, your wound is bad, plus you just recovered from a fever, just hang tight for a day or two, then we'll see how you're holding up," Blair reasoned.

"But, I can't sit still here, I need to-" the zorua began to speak before she cut herself off.

"Is something wrong?"

"Nothing," Nila faintly replied.

"So, will you stay and recover?" Blair asked again.

The zorua remained silent for a moment, until she replied, "Fine, but once I'm recovered I'm leaving, no strings attached or anything," Nila sternly said.

"Well, a thank you wouldn't hurt, but you can leave when you're recovered," Blair said with a frown.

The following night

It was now after supper, and we were all getting tired from a long day. Sebastian was sitting on a recliner in the living room while reading a book, and watching TV at the same time. Blair and I accompanied Sebastian in the living room.

Blair lied under a nightstand where it was somewhat dark, compared to the rest of the house, while I lied in a corner. The fact that the zorua still gave me that feeling of danger creeped me out. The zorua was no more than a kid, younger than Blair and myself, I'd say the zorua was probably at least fourteen. I have kept this in long enough, Blair or someone needed to know that this zorua may be bad news. Without a moment more of delay, I got up and made my way towards the nightstand that Blair was hiding under.

"Hey Blair, can we talk?" I asked.

Blair let out a yawn, before she crawled out from under the nightstand, "Sure, about what though?"

"It's something about that zorua," I answered.

"Oh her, yeah she's a bit snarky, isn't she?" Blair stated.

"No, not that," I said as I tried to think of a way to put this without sounding skeptical, "Look, from the moment we found that zorua, I've been getting a bad vibe from her, like something bad is going to happen because of her, or maybe because she's dangerous," I told Blair.

"Rin, she's just a kid, how can she be dangerous?" Blair questioned me.

"I don't know, but think about it, my horn has alerted us of plenty of times when danger was coming, what if this is something serious? I was hoping the feeling would go away, but that zorua just sets me off."

"Well what do we do then, tell her to scram? The kid can barely stand, she almost died?" Blair responded.

"But what if something bad does happen?"

"Nothing will Rin, she's just a kid."

I let out a sigh upon hearing what she thought, "I hope you're right," I said, before I felt my horn ring with an even worse sensation than I've ever felt before. I slightly flinched from the feeling as I tried not to cringe. The feeling was a frigid cold and I could feel a tremor travelling through my horn to the rest of my body.

"Are you alright?" Blair asked as she looked at me with a baffled expression.

"Y-Yeah," I managed to say as the overwhelming feeling consumed the horn on my head, "I just got a headache" I said as I began to walk towards the front door, "I'ma get some fresh air really quick."

"Need me to come with?"

"No, I just need some quiet, sorry," I said as I used my right paw to pull down on the handle of the door, and I got it open. I made my way outside and began to walk into the open space of the night. I inhaled a deep breath of the fresh air as I tried to get the feeling in my horn to go away, but the feeling just continued to linger like a bad migraine.

The ringing in my horn felt as if it was pulling me in a certain direction, this was a feeling I've never felt before. Without even noticing, I began to walk in the direction in which this strange force was calling me from. I was helpless to this feeling, I had to investigate it, I just felt like I had no say in this.

Everything in the night was quiet, and the moon was full, therefore providing decent lighting. A cold breeze blew through the silent night as well. I continued to make my way in the direction of the sensation, until I was in the center of town, where a few empty shops surrounded me. Suddenly, the feeling in my horn intensified, I let out a grunt as I tried to get a grip on myself.

"Looks like tonight is a good hunt," A voice spoke from above me. My eyes widened as my eyes shot upward, and I saw a jolteon standing on the roof of one of the buildings. The jolteon stared down at me with a rather cold glare, one that showed dark intentions that sent chills through my spine, and the feeling in my horn only seemed to intensify.

"Who are you? I've never seen you around here before," I questioned the jolteon.

"Don't worry about that, just come with me and no one gets hurt," the jolteon ordered me, and my fur stood on edge from such a creepy demand from a stranger.

"No," I quickly responded as I slowly backed away.

"My people have been looking for an absol for a while, I didn't expect to find one here, along with the zorua we were hunting," the jolteon spoke, "But if you won't come peacefully, that's your choice," the jolteon said before he jumped off the building and landed on the ground without flinching. "Tell me, where is the zorua, why not make my night a little easier?"

"I'm not telling you anything," I responded.

The jolteon scowled from my response, "Have it your way then," the jolteon said as electricity began to circulate through his fur, "Do you know what it feels like to be blasted by ten-thousand volts of electricity?" the jolteon spoke in a intimidating manner that cause me to begin trembling.

I took a step back as the jolteon began walking towards me. Never before in my life have I been in a fight, my life has always been peaceful. I didn't want to fight him, I didn't want to hurt anyone either, I couldn't do something like this, it's not in me.

"How about a sample?" the jolteon spoke, and the electricity in his fur took shape, and flew towards me in the shape of a bolt of lightning. I quickly dove to the side, and roughly tousled around on the ground, before I climbed back up to my feet. It didn't take more than a second for another bolt to come my way, this one was faster than the last, and I barely moved in time. My heart pounded within my chest, nothing seemed to matter right now, other than avoiding his attacks.

"Try this one out!" The jolteon yelled excitedly as the electricity around his body began to intensify, before it was let loose in a wave of electricity. A crackle filled the air as I stood petrified, before I felt an intense heat upon impact, along with every muscle in my body tightening to the point that it was unbearable. My body hit the ground as everything began to grow dark, but I fought off the feeling.

"W-What do you want from me and that zorua?" I managed to say as I panted.

"Pale has been looking for an absol lately, one that is pure as he calls it, whatever that means. But, It's nearly impossible to find your kind these days, not many absol left in this world. Hopefully you're the one, so this search can end," the jolteon spoke as he walked towards me.

"Why though?" I said as I began pulling myself off the ground, despite my muscles that were pulsing in pain.

"You'll see soon enough," the jolteon answered as he placed his paw on me, and used his body weight to push me back down.

"Then what about the zorua? Why are you after a kid?" I asked with anger.

"It doesn't concern you, absol. I have some other colleagues dealing with your umbreon friend and the zorua," the jolteon answered, "All that matters now, is that you're ours."

"That's crap," I responded as I tried forcing myself up, but before I made progress I heard a crackle, and I felt the blinding pain of electricity entering my body.

"Stay down, kid," the jolteon replied. My vision was growing blurry, and everything seemed so quiet, I felt as if I was going to pass out any second now. But I had to do something if other pokemon were pursuing Blair and Nila. I quickly opened my mouth wide and I clamped my fangs down on the jolteon's forearm. The eeveelution let out a howl of pain as he tried pulling away, but I kept my teeth clamped down. The jolteon let out a low growl, before his teeth bit down on my shoulder, and I felt the razor sharp fangs tearing through my flesh. I let out a loud scream that echoed through the silence of the night, which freed the jolteon from my grasp.

The jolteon quickly jumped back to a safe distance as he kept his injured arm off the ground. Blood seeped from my shoulder as I let out whimpers, along with the tears that were starting to form in my eyes. I tried to hold them in, but I soon found myself failing at keeping in my emotions.

"You fucking brat, that's what you get for doing that," the jolteon snapped at me as he gnashed his teeth together and looked as if he was shaking he was full of so much rage. The trembling in my body worsened as I saw the look in his eyes. This jolteon was going to kill me, and I didn't have the strength to fight him. But if I didn't try, then what would happen to Blair, Sebastian and even that zorua Nila? With a newfound strength, I pulled myself off the ground, every muscle in my body ached, and my shoulder stung with a raw pain, but I fought through it, even if I was tearing up still. I gave a hard stare at the jolteon, I knew this was suicidal, but I had no choice.

Without hesitation, I began sprinting towards the jolteon as I yelled out a battle cry, once in range, I flailed my horned head at the jolteon, in an attempt to slash him. The eeveelution jumped back from me, but then responded by slamming his entire body into me. Electricity lit up my entire body with blinding pain as I slammed down onto the ground. I tried to move, but my muscles failed me this time. This whole encounter was the first time I've been electrocuted, and it was much worse than what I could have imagined.

"Amateur," the jolteon muttered as he began charging electricity through his body again. I tried to move, but the only thing I got was pain in my muscles. Time slowed down as I watched the finishing blow shoot towards me. If I died here, who would tell Blair and Sebastian danger was coming, who would protect them, who? My eyes widened as the bolt of lightning collided with me, I let out a loud scream of pain, but the feeling didn't last for more than a second, everything faded to black within a moment, and I felt absolutely nothing.

Everything was still black for me, but I could feel that I was lying on some kind of stone ground that was very cold and uncomfortable. I let out a raspy groan as my eyes slowly opened. My vision was blurred, but I could still make out the dark cell like room I was confined in. Outside the cell I was confined in was a small light bulb that was dimly lit, and at times its light would begin to fade, only to just barely go back to its previous state. The cell had an eerie silence to it, it was quieter than Oldale at night, and it was just unsettling to me. Along with the gloomy atmosphere, I felt a strong migraine in my head, but I tried to ignore it. Upon further observation, I noticed that my shoulder was bandaged up, so whoever abducted me had to have a hand in that.

"Rin, I was worried about you, you've been out for a while," A weak, yet familiar voice said from across the room. Two crimson eyes stared at me from the shadows of the cell for a moment, before the umbreon walked out of the shadows.

"Where's Nila and Sebastian?" I asked Blair as I tried to fight off my pulsing head pains. Blair remained silent and I began to assume the worst, "Blair, where is Sebastian and Nila? I asked again.

"It's all her fault," Blair said below her breath, "This is all that zorua's fault!" Blair screamed as tears began to fall from her eyes. "We should have known better than to trust her," Blair said ruefully as she dug her claws into the concrete ground.

My head lowered as I realized that something bad happened. I tried to think of something to say, but nothing came to mind other than to sit here petrified. One question did run through my head though, why did those pokemon want me and that zorua? And what was that zorua's relation with them?
