Elliot and Olivia lied on the cobblestone road within the forest. They lied in their finest garments. Elliot, in a white button down shirt and brown corduroy pants with dress shoes. Olivia in a vibrant red dress that went down to her knees. Her soft brown, wavy hair was pulled back in a messy bun. The trees' leaves were changing from summer to autumn. From deep green to lively shades of yellow and orange. The sky was a weary blue, filled with whispery white clouds. Olivia held a thick half page letter in her hand.
"El, it's from Don."
Elliot sat up, his eyes filled with worry and perhaps even a little bit of fear.
"What'd he say, 'Livia?"
Olivia's mouth was quivering, but eventually gave into a small grin.
"Hey says we can stop running, that we can finally be together, and no one can break us apart."
A smile swept across Elliot's face. His smile transitioned into his classic smirk. Their lips met in a passionate, yet chaste kiss. They could finally be together. They could scream to the top of the world that they were together, and no one could put an end to it.
"Hi."
"Hi."
"You look riveting darling. "Elliot said, full of sincere and lust.
Olivia blushed. She was madly in love with Elliot. She had been for fifteen long years. Fifteen long years to get together. It was all worth it in the end, they told themselves, and now it was pure bliss.
"El?"
"Yes, baby?"
"Promise me you'll never break my heart."
Elliot sat up.
"Darling, I wouldn't break your heart in a million years. If I did, I'd have to break mine as well." He said, candidly.
Olivia smiled and shed a tear, and Elliot wiped it away. She smiled, and he gave her a quick peck.
"Now come on. Don, Alex, John, Fin, Casey, and Melinda are waiting for us for dinner."
They both walked away from that forest, hand in hand. They left their worries, fears, and short-comings there. They only cared about the future they had together.
"Liv?"
"Yeah, El?"
Elliot gracefully got down on one knee, his eyes filled with emotion. He pull a ring out of his pant pocket.
"Marry me?"
