Her majesty, princess Zelda, sat in a chair in the nursery. She was smiling down at a baby with wavy brown locks and bright blue eyes. The child seemed to be asleep. Zelda hummed a lullaby to the young heiress and then kissed her forehead, walking over to the babies crib. She tried not to disturb the two other heiresses that were asleep in the room. "Goodnight Victoria" Zelda whispered, smiling at the baby before walking over to the middle aged daughter, stroking her forehead, "goodnight Madeline" Zelda knelt down beside her eldest daughter, who was now awake.
"When's daddy coming home?" she asked, her dirty blonde hair messed up. "I don't know, Genevieve" Zelda hugged the 7 year old. Their father, Link, had left on a quest a few months earlier, shortly after Victoria was born. He was expected home 7 weeks ago, but he had not returned. "Is he OK?" Genevieve asked, almost in tears.
"Idon't know' sweetheart" Zelda felt a tear roll down her cheek and Genevieve started to shake with sobs and sniffles. Genevieve pulled away to look at her mothers tearstained face and smiled sadly.
"Get some sleep OK honey?" Zelda said in a whispered tone. Genevieve nodded and rested her head on the plush pillow. Zelda smiles and switches off the light, walking down the castle corridors. She stopped to look at a picture of Link being sat on by Madeline and Genevieve, with herself laughing in the background.
"We miss you Link, we really do..."
