I remember when I was younger I use to never wanted the day to end, but nowadays I just wish my life would end. When I was little I use to think heroes would come and save me. But look they never did. Some ignored us while some probably didn't even hear our cries. It's a sickening event. You beg for help but no one saves you. I gave a sigh and starred at my sleeping brother, his mouth semi- open and you can even hear his small snores.
It use to be me, him and my mother. She tried to protect us with everything she could, and she died protecting us. After her death, we were taken in by some family friends, they did everything to keep us safe. Eventually they caught us and we have been stuck here since.
"You're up again?" I heard Logan , my brother, speak. His brownish black hair was a all tangled and messy, his dark eyes had bags under them.
"Did I wake you?" I questioned, playing with my hair.
"Nah.." He slid next to me, letting out a yawn.
"How can you be like that?"
"Be like what?"
"Calm.. How can you be fine with this? We are going to die here. There is no future for us.."
"if we escape, they will kill us..I can't loose you." He sighed running his hands through his hair "Go and sleep."
"But Logan-"
"No Sophia. We already lost mom..I can't loose you."
"But we can escape together!"
"Go to bed, Sophia." He warned. I walked over to my bunk, obeying him for once. "Goodnight Soph."
"Night" I spoke drifting off into a deep, lifeless sleep.
