-1Scream from The Abyss
She sees the fire rising up and she screams. She stands and waves her arms, yelling and crying until her voice is hoarse. The helicopter flies farther and farther away. Why is it still flying away? She screams, "Go back! Go back! We have to go back!" But they restrain her and pull her down yelling in the same, frightened tone, "He's gone! No one's down there! I'm so sorry Sun, but he's gone!"
She shakes her head, eyes dripping with sorrowful tears. He can't be gone. He said he'd never leave me. He said we'd be a family.
She's almost about ready to jump off the thing, and plummet in to the ocean. She doesn't care what happens when she hits the bottom, as long as she's with her precious husband. Too precious to let go just like that. She has to do something. Anything. She screams his name. She screams so loudly, deafening the passengers next to her. They sit there, holding her back, calling her name, trying to tell her it's no use.
"Sun, I'm sorry. There's nothing you can do."
The fire burns and the boat that they believed would be their rescue sinks in to the dark murky water. Her hopes and dreams drown before her eyes. She shivers, she cries and she screams.
She still screams in the dead of night, dreaming of that day. The day he died. She wakes Ji Yeon and she bawls too. She suddenly realises how Claire must've felt when Charlie had died. There was no happy ending for them, any of them. Happy endings weren't made for them. She guesses the Island doesn't like families. Ji Yeon wriggles in her crib, crying. She picks the baby up and they cry together. They cry until the morning light takes over the dark sky. And then she walks over to the mirror, hides the misery on her face with make-up and for the rest of the day pretends she's fine.
Two people she cared for were gone. And she cries for both. She cries for Michael and the son he left behind. She cries at the fact that despite all he had done, he was still a good man and had died trying to help them. But most of all she cries for Jin. She cries for the life they had never got to finish living. She cries at the fact that despite he was yelling and calling for them to return, they never did. She cries because she loved him and even though she feared it every day, she never dreamed of this happening.
One day, she hears a knock at her door and one of the men she hates most is standing there, head bowed and voice low. He rubs his ugly beard and starts muttering something about going back to the island. At this, she feels the anger swell up inside of her and do you know what she does?
She screams.
