Mountains of Afghanistan - May 2001
When the young blonde woman jumped, Captain Sheppard awoke with a start. He only remembered her saying good-bye to a young teenage girl with long Burnett hair and watched as she dove off a tower. What a nightmare, he thought. This was not the first time he had a dream of the strange young woman. A few months prior, he dreamt she was running down a street with a small wooden stick in each hand that came to a point, which he thought was strange, and her long blonde hair was flowing behind her back.
Captain John Sheppard is a US Air Force Officer stationed in the mountains of Afghanistan, a backwater he was sent to for attempting to save the lives of US servicemen.

Mountains of Afghanistan - Six Months Later
"Captain," Lieutenant Hadley said.
"Yes Lieutenant," Sheppard replied.
"It's time for patrol sir," he said.
"Thank you Lieutenant," he said, and got up from the table. While on patrol, Captain Sheppard was thinking about the dream he had the night before. He saw the haunted and sorrowful eyes of the blonde woman and knew she was in great pain. He watched as she sat on a bed and cried her eyes out and his heart went out to her. He wanted to comfort her and tell her everything would be alright and offer her a shoulder to cry on. He had no idea who the young woman was or why he kept dreaming about her.

Antarctica - Spring 2003
Captain John Sheppard was promoted to Major and transferred to the Ancient Outpost in Antarctica, another backwater. Major Sheppard had forgotten about the young woman he dreamt about over one and one-half years ago, until he bolted up in bed one night and remembered the dream he just had. The young blonde woman was standing with others he could not see and she had a slight smile on her face. He had a feeling her burdens had been lifted and her responsibilities had changed. She also had a look of relief on her face.
"Who are you?" he asked out loud.
