For those of you who are interested, the shade of America's eyes in the anime is #2F4B7B. Seriously, I took the time to zoom it in on MS Paint, write down the RGB numbers, and convert it into hex. ^_^
Not surprisingly, England's eyes are very close to a certain harmonic green shade to that color.
Afflatus
n. A divine imparting of knowledge, a sudden burst of inspiration, particularly of the poetic kind.
America was England's inspiration. He inspired England's art, poems, books – he could never take his mind off of America for long. England admired how America could live in the moment, floating from one day to another without a care. He would get through depressions on a wing and a prayer. And even if he never stopped and admired the journey – he could always find the beauty of the destination. Whenever England felt down, America was there, brightening the very room he stood in and lessening England's worry. And his eyes – how England loved those eyes. England could write so much about that particular shade of blue – blue, sapphire, azure, ceil, cerulean, cyan, cobalt, cornflower, sky, ocean, iceberg, indigo, midnight, iris, navy, zaffre, Palatinate, periwinkle, Persian, Prussian, royal, teal, turquoise, marine, Mediterranean, lagoon, mint, aqua – the list went on and on, and England could see no end to it. But England – no matter how hard he tried couldn't pin down that one exact color, a dark greenish blue color that haunted his dreams. So until then, England would just have to be satisfied with waking up to it every morning.
