Prompt: Wine Tasting (#55)

Like Autumn Leaves

She'd never really been one of the pretty girls. She'd always been, just a little chubby. Even when she'd shed those few extra pounds and her shape became more womanly, she still felt like the insecure little girl.

But at the moment, her insecurities were lost. She finally felt like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon.

Perhaps it was simply all the wine she'd had. It was her first time after all, and after about her fourth glass, the drink no longer tasted unbearably dry and tart.

A giggle burst through her lips as she tilted her head back.

"You have really lovely hair, did you know that?" someone whispered into her ear, over the sounds of the music blaring around them and over the din of people chatting and laughing.

She felt a hand, raking through her thick and luscious straight hair that was like the early autumn sun. Her hair had always reminded her of the leaves changing colors, those burnt oranges and golden yellows that always made her feel warm in spite of the chill in the air.

Closing her lips, though a smile still played on her full lips, she found herself looking into familiar brown eyes. Was that Neville, she wondered briefly, wondering when they'd starting talking and wondering where Hannah was. Weren't they dating?

However, the answer was lost as her mind continued to buzz.

"Is that all that is lovely about me?" she asked, wondering briefly if she was flirting with the war hero. Something in the very back of her mind, told her that was wrong of her to do, but for the life of her she really couldn't think of why.

The feeling of being encompassed by the tall Gryffindor, her senses completely invaded, suddenly came over her. Looking up slightly breathless, she couldn't help gasping when she felt his lips close to her ears.

"Lovely doesn't begin to cover you," he slurred, causing her to giggle uncontrollably once more.

A tongue invaded her mouth then, silencing her giggles. Drunkenly, Susan held onto the strong arms of the male before her, sighing when she realized that his tongue tasted sinfully of wine.
