A/n: Just a short one- shot, not my best :P but hopefully you'll like it
Broken
History had repeated itself again and this time Kim knew it wouldn't be able to happen again.
He threw a stone into the sea and sat himself down.
His baby, the baby that he was supposed to be having with Kit, was not his. This was the third time it had happened, but unlike the previous two times, it was much worse. He had lost Kit as his best friend at the result of her deception and had lost the love of his life, his wife Rachel.
He took a swig out of the bottle beside him, tears coming to his eyes as the bitter taste trickled down his throat.
He was brought out of his own troubles when he spotted a small figure in the distance, struggling to keep balance.
He stood up, brows furrowed, as he tried to decipher who it was. As they got closer, Kim recognized the person; he dropped his bottle and rushed toward them.
He touched the girls shoulder "Matilda"? He asked concernedly as he spotted the bottle that she held carelessly in her hand.
She stopped midstep and looked up at him, her eyes glazed over.
"Kimmy what are you doing out here"?
He took her lightly by the arm "Come I'll take you home"
Matilda threw her arm out of his grip "No" she cried "no no no"
And with that she fell onto the sand, her face in her hands as she began to cry.
Kim sighed and sat down beside her.
"What is it maddy"? He asked soothingly, trying to remain patient.
She hiccupped
"Did you have a fight with your mum"? He asked, prompting her to speak
She shook her head furiously.
"Tony? Lucas"?
She again shook her head and threw her bottle to the side.
"Ric" she mumbled.
"Did you have a fight with Ric"? He asked gently.
Maddy shook her head as more tears traveled down her cheeks "Ric, Cassie" she cried, unable to say anything else.
Catching onto what she was trying to say Kim drew the smaller girl into his arms " Oh Maddy" he whispered as she began to sob.
"Looks like I'm not the only one suffering with a broken heart" he added silently. And as she cried, Kim wanted to do nothing more than cry along with her.
As her sobs turned into cries, and her cries into quick deep breathes, it was soon silent and when Kim glanced down, Her blue eyes met his.
"I'm sorry, " she mumbled, as she tried to steady herself up into a sitting position, but quickly fell back into his chest.
"It's alright" he managed to say.
She turned to face him again "It'll all be ok"? She tried to reassure him, even though it ended up sounding more like a question in itself.
"It will" he whispered
And somehow in there time of brokenness a bond was formed during the last hours of the night, as she sat with her head on his chest, and his chin resting in her hair. And as the sun rose both felt better than they had the night before and Kim managed to smile a small smile at the sleeping girl in his arms.
Maybe in their brokenness they could unbreak each other.
A/n: So what did ya think? I might end up doing a sequel in the future :)
