The beauty of friendship and love
Chapter one: The Meeting
It was Albus Severus Potters 11th Birthday and he received his letter from Hogwarts. " Can we get my stuff today please dad" Albus asked softly.
" Of course we can Albus, we will go straight after breakfast okay" Harry said to his younger son ruffling his hair.
After a light and quick breakfast Harry and his son took the floo and arrived in Diagon alley. "We will have to make a quick stop to Gringotts first and then we can start to get your stuff"
Though Albus got on well with the goblins, one of the few wizards who did, he was happy they spent minimum time there.
" where to first dad?"
" How about you go in to madam Malkin's ? As we're closets to it"
" Aren't you going to come in with me? Albus frowned
" Sorry Albus, I need to get something"
"Oh okay" Albus said and walked in to the shop.
" Hello Mr Potter, why don't you go to the back. There's another young boy back there too"
" sure, and its Albus. Mr Potter makes me sound old" he offered a small smile.
Albus walked to the back of the store and noticed the other young boy at the back. He had blond hair as white as ice.
The other boy looked down and noticed Albus. " Hello, is it your first year too?"
" um yeah it is, I'm Albus by the way"
" Nice to meet you Albus, the names Scorpius"
" its a pleasure, what house do you want to be?"
" I think all houses are good and should be respected but I am hoping for Slytherin"
" Do you mind if I ask why, because there's a really bad stigma against the house"
Scorpius nodded " yeah I know, but I think it's silly. Just because some dark wizards came from Slytherin doesn't mean all are. Please don't let others change your opinion"
" My brother teases me about Slytherin, and what if my family don't like me anymore?"
" why does he tease you? There is nothing wrong with being a Slytherin and if you family can't accept you're a Slytherin then they are not very good"
" I suppose you are right Scorp"
" Of course I'm right, and Scorp?"
" well I've never had a friend before and I thought you may like a nickname"
"Ive never had a friend either, and I like the idea of a nickname Albs"
" Why do you get a good nickname and I get a bad one?" Albus joked with Scorpius
" How about Alby?"
" I think that's worst how about Al?"
" sure, are you on your own?" Scorpius asked
" No, my dad is around here somewhere, what about you Scorp?"
Before Scorpius could answer Draco entered the shop. Albus noticed that both this man and Draco look alike and guessed it was his dad.
" That's you all done young man" the older witch said to Scorpius.
" Come along son
" bye Al, meet on the train?" Scorpius asked with a bit of hope in his voice
" Of course we can Scorp"
Scorpius said one quick goodbye and left the shop with his dad. Ten minutes later Albus was finished and his dad was finished doing what ever he was doing, so they left the shop.
After they had brought everything they needed plus a few extra thing's , they went to the last place they needed to go Olivander's.
Albus ran on ahead leaving his dad behind.
Albus noticed that his new friend was also in Olivander's. " hi again Scorp, do you nearly have everything now?"
"yeah, just my wand to go now" Scorpius said looking in to Albus's emerald eyes.
" Ah, Scorpius do introduce me to your friend"
" of course dad, this is my new friend Albus"
"its a pleasure to meet you Albus"
"You too sir"
Just then Harry walked in " Malfoy what are you talking to my son for?"
" I was introducing myself, as it seems our sons have become friends"
" is that true Albus?"
Albus just nodded his head. Harry then turned to Scorpius " I'm Mr Potter, but you can call me Harry"
" Nice to meet you, I'm Scorpius"
Then the creepy voice of Olivander was heard " shall we continue Mr Malfoy"
" of course, Scorpius why don't you go and try another wand?"
Scorpius walked up to the front desk and took the wand from Olivander hand, as soon as he did a plant in the corner went up in flames.
"Obviously not" Olivander said to him self
" Here try this one, maple wood, unicorn hair 11inches"
As soon as Scorpius took it, it had the same reaction. Olivander went through over 30 of his wands when he had an idea. " Mr Potter why don't you come up here also"
Albus nervously walked up, Scorpius gave his a reassuring smile. Olivander came back with two new wands. He passed the first one to Scorpius. " Hawthorne and phoenix tears" he then picked up the second one and passed it to Albus " holly with a core of unicorn tears"
When both boys were holding their wands a beautiful gold string of light came out both their wands and wrapped around each other.
After a few moments it stopped and Draco was the first to speak up
" what on earth was that"
With less creepiness in his tone Olivander answered " it was a bond, a bond of peace, friendship, and love"
" Um love?" Harry asked " they're only eleven"
" Mr Potter there is more than one meaning of love, it can be friendship or a romantic kind. It doesn't matter to the bond"
" Albus why don't you say goodbye to your friend"
" do we have to go dad?" Albus asked holding Scorpius's hand.
Scorpius then turned to his dad " please dad"
Draco turned to Harry " I suppose ice cream wouldn't hurt"
After their ice cream, Draco turned to Harry " look Potter I know we have never got along, but if our sons are going to be friends, then I propose a truce"
" of course Malfoy" Harry said and shook the blonds hand.
Albus said his final goodbye to Scorpius, and then used the floo I go home.
For those next few weeks the boys were inseparable, and their friendship blossomed.
"I'm so happy I met you Scorp, you make me feel like I'm my own person and not just the son of the boy who lived"
" Of course your are your own person, you're a genius, you're kind and you're my best friend"
" Thanks Scorp, you're my best friend too, want a game of chess?"
" Prepare to lose" Scorpius chuckled
In total they played 5 games, in which Scorpius won two , Albus one two, and the last game was stalemate.
It was finally September the September the first and both Scorpius and Albus were on the Hogwarts express, they spent most of the journey talking about all the exploring they were going to do, they had a game of chess in which Scorpius won and then finally they had arrived. Dressed in their school robes they walked off the train and followed Hagrid to the boats. " merlin, its beautiful isn't it Scorp?"
"its amazing"
After they were at the castle, Hagrid lead them to Professor McGonagall. " follow me" the group of first years followed.
A thousand years ago when I was newly sown,

They built a castle for the small few,

There was never a friendship such strong,
The bravery of Gryffindor,
The wisdom of Ravenclaw,
The justified Hufflepuff,
And the ambitious Slytherin,

" SLYTHERIN" the hat shouted out
"Thomas Frey"

More named where called out then finally Scorpius " ah young malfoy you are different from the rest, you are brave, wise, just and ambitious you are a rare case. I see Slytherin is what you heart desires and you truly belong there SLYTHERIN!"
More and more names then " Albus Potter"
" ah hello young Potter you are much like your friend, I can see you are much like your father, I see that bothers you as you wish to be your own person I wish you luck SLYTHERIN!"
"NO MY BROTHER IS NOT A SLIMY DEATH EATER TRAITOR"
