finally free Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam nor do I own this song, which is sung by Dido called "here with me." Ok on with the ficcy ^_^

I didn't hear you leave
I wonder how am I still here
I don't want to move a thing
It might change my memory

Relena awakes, suddenly feeling alone. She glances around noticing the empty space beside her. Feeling a slight breeze she notices the open window, "oh, Heero." She clutches her robe tightly to herself as she walks out onto the balcony basking in the first rays of morning. She wished he could enjoy the morning as much as she, why couldn't he understand that he didn't have to run anymore. A single tear escapes her and drops onto the rail; she glances at it wondering if he even knew how to do even that. "No matter, I can do it for the both of us." She takes another look at the sky and the birds flying so carefree, "One day even you will know that simple joy Heero."

Oh I am what I am
I'll do what I want
But I can't hide

Heero continues staring at the empty balcony. He shouldn't stay; he's supposed to be the "perfect soldier," unhindered by petty emotions. So why couldn't he leave. Relena suddenly appears atop the balcony, a slight breeze rustling her golden locks. The sun's rays catching her in its warm embrace, a golden glow dancing around her features, making her appear angelic. A silver tear runs down her porcelain face, as she turns away she glances back as if searching for something. Finding nothing she retreats back inside. "Relena," he wants to go to her, to hold her in his arms to forget what he is, and just…be.
He replaces his mask and stands stoically as once again his dreams are shattered because of his reality. He must continue wearing his mask the mask of a perfect soldier.

I wont go
I won't sleep
I cant breath
Until you're resting here with me

Eyes raw with emotion, she drops down onto the bed grasping onto the blanket they both shared, reveling in his smell, not wanting to let go of that precious memory. Someway somehow she was determined to make him understand he no longer needs to hide behind his mask.

I don't want to call my friends
They might wake me from this dream
And I can't leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that's been

"Oh Heero, I wish I could make you understand that you don't have to be a soldier anymore. You can finally let go, finally be free."

Oh I am what I am
I'll do what I want
But I can't hide

She senses movement behind her; standing out on the balcony with his mask still in place was none other than he. His mask did nothing to hide the many emotions playing across his eyes though, the confusion and doubt, so many questions seemed to want to jump out of those eyes, but he continued standing, not moving a muscle, waiting to either be dismissed or invited. He hoped for the latter, but he would never let her know that. "Heero, you came back." Slowly he approached her not knowing what to expect and was surprised when she jumped into his arms holding onto him tightly. (His mask begins to fall) Soon he was returning the hug still unsure but somewhere deep inside he knew he was finally free. Inside she smiled, she knew he was finally beginning to understand.

I wont go
I won't sleep
I can't breath
Until you're resting here with me
