"Zero," Stanley Yelnats bit back a grin that threatened to erupt; he leaned on his side on his bed. His friend raised his green eyes from the words Stanley set aside for him to memorize. "You need a nickname!" Stanley's childlike excitement made Zero smile. "I have one: Zero," he pointed out, sitting up . Caveman shook his head vigorously. "No a real one likeā¦Heck" Hector raised his eyebrows.
"Heckie." Maybe the onions did worse damage then originally thought. "Hecka." Zero blinked. "Isn't that a shape?" Caveman noticed the are-you-insane-look and said, "I'm thinking." "Don't hurt yourself," Hector muttered. The boys sat in silence for a moment before Stanley suddenly beamed. "I've got it!" His baby blue eyes gleamed. "What is it?" Zero wearily inquired. "
"Hectina Zeroni"
Hector Zeroni slammed the paper on the floor, half in annoyance and half in amusement. "That's it! I'm sleeping on the couch," he trudged off, ignoring his friends hysterical laughter behind him.
