Disclaimer: I don't won Miraii Nikki

A tearstained Yuno Gasai stood before the world, and the world looked back at her with her childs hands, forever stained with the blood of the game,, uncaring of the end of one small world. One life in the space of millions was all she was, and all she could ever be. She had killed them all, struck them down with the sharp end of a blade, all in the name of love, of hope, the hope that maybe the light she had always wanted lay on the other side of all this hell. All that she had found was blood, and more of the pain she sought to avoid.

She had searched for love, and by a miracle it seemed she'd finally found it. She could make him want her, want her the way she wanted want her he did, even if it was only for a short time. But it was a cheap imitation of the love she dreamed of. Beyond them lay death and a trail of bodies, all to sustain her desires, the fragile life of the bpy she held desperatley in her arms. The conclusion of their game, this test of loyalty, had no happy ending to speak of. There could only be one winner. She understood, and prayed that there was another option, knowing there never could be. She was destined for death. Yuki would not be the one to strike her down. Let him remain pure as long as he can.

She took the pills first, stuffing them into her mouth before Yuki had the chance to stop her. She looked away. The despair in his eyes would not be the last thing she saw. She pulled at her hair until strands came loose in her fingers nd tasted her bitter tears on her tongue. The world was cruel, the world was bitter. Why was she not allowed happiness? Had she done something so terrible that she was to be denied that simple pleasure? She didn't ask for the world. She had only asked for someone to be kind to her, to hold her hand, to see the things she'd done and still love her without limits. Her parents had taught her that that kind of love didn't exist in this world, but she was determined to prove them wrong.

Yuno smiled as she felt her heartbeat quicken. The pills were doing their job. Yuki was shaking her, pressing their lips together in desperation, but she didn't feel that anymore. She was somewhere else, where it was quiet and peaceful for the first time in weeks. This was good, this weightless feeling.

She could still see Yuki, his dark hair shielding his eyes as he went through her backpack, throwing her hairbrush against the wall. Her knife clattered to the floor. She wanted to scream, to tell him no. She wanted to tell him yes. She wanted him to be with her more than anything right now, but she also wanted to him to live, to become the god of a new world. Maybe then he wouldn't look so sad. She couldn't speak to do either.

He pulled out the orange plastic container with shaky fingers and popped the cap, pouring the remaining capsules into his mouth in a little white shower. He swallowed and embraced her, and she saw he was crying too.

So this was how her story ended. They were both losers at the end of the world. There would be no winner of the Future Diary game. She had to drag Yuki into this. He might have even won, with some luck. Now he was sentenced right along with her.

Yuno heard hemrself laugh in the silence suddenly. Why not laugh? She had tried to cheat nature. She was impure; she had murdered in cold blood, and she tried to be with Yuki, sweet Yuki, who never wanted to be in the game to begin with. She played to win. He played to live. Yin and yang, darkness and light, the two of them couldn't mix without it ending like a nightmare.

Her cell phone beeped, and Yuno Gasai closed her eyes.

Hey, mom, dad? I think I found it.
