Prologue
Disclaimer : Everything belongs to JKR, though I would really like to own Albus.
Author's note : Hello ! First, thank you, reader, for coming here to read my story.
I'm French and Polish, so I apologise for every spelling/grammar mistake, but my dear English professor was very kind and accepted to correct my story, so there should not be any.
I leave you now, enjoy the story !
Prologue
It was a cold December evening. Neither the moon nor the stars were shining. A cold and violent wind made even the strongest trees bend, and from heavy clouds snow was falling. The whole town of Godric's Hollow was covered with white, pure snow.
Even if the sky was not shining tonight, the town was lightened in every way possible. It was two weeks before Christmas, and everyone had decorated their houses with blue, red, green and yellow lights. People were locked in their houses, laughing and playing. The town of Godric's Hollow was divided into three parts : the western side was the richest part, the centre of the town was the middle-class part, and the eastern side was the poorest part.
One the western side, something was happening. A new person had just arrived, a rich man from Germany. He had arrived in the morning, and had gone for a walk. He was now coming back to his new home, the wind hitting his face. His grey eyes were barely visible, for all his face was hidden behind his hat and scarf. Some of his blond hair which had escaped from under the hat was now white. The man's fingers were clentching his long black - now white - coat. He finally arrived, smiling when the warmth of the house enveloped him. He looked at a little table in the hallway where lots of letters - all addressed to him - were present. He looked at them, and one caught his attention. On the top of the envelope was written :
From : Armando Dippet
To : Gellert Grindelwald
There was a large graveyard on the eastern side of the central part of the town. This place was covered with snow too, but it was untouched. The graveyard looked less frightening than usual.
Someone approached the great black gates. It was a young boy, not older than eighteen years old, dressed rather poorly : only a jumper and a scarf were a source of warmth for him. He was carrying a bunch of daisies. His bright blue eyes were directed towards one tomnstone. He crossed the gates, and walked on, his gaze never leaving the tombstone.
It was situated in the middle of the graveyard, and it was quite visible. The bright grey stone stood proudly between a very dark tombstone and an incredibely white one, which was barely visible.
The boy kneeled in front of the three stones. He immediately looked lost, and didn't seem aware of the wind taking away some of the smallest daisies. He dug a hole in the snow, then put the daisies in it, and finally covered the stalks with snow. He then stayed in this kneeling position for an hour, or maybe less, or perhaps more. Who knew ? He certainly did not. To speak the truth, in this precise moment, he knew nothing.
He cried, eventually. He seemes like a new-born child, crying, and utterly lost. He cried, but no sob escaped him.
He slowly grew tired. One part of him wanted to go " home ", but another part wanted to stay there and just die. It was the easiest way. But the boy knew better. They wouldn't want him to die, they would want him to fight. So, he stood up and got back " home ", even if in a very reluctant way.
While walking, he was shivering. He felt as if his very bones were frozen. He dreamt of a warm fire, and a comfortable chair. The harsh wind made his journey very difficult. He started wondering why he was still walking, but he knew the answer.
He managed to get back " home ". He smiled slightly when his body warmed up, and he felt his cheeks turn red. He opened his bright blue eyes, and passed a hand in his short auburn hair when he saw an envelope waiting for him on a small table. The boy took it and read :
From : Armando Dippet
To : Albus Dumbledore
Author's note : So, this is the end of the prologue. I hope you liked it.
I do not usually ask for reviews, but as it is my first fanfiction in English, I would like to hear some opinions from English people. Is it good, or bad, if you like the idea or not, and so on.
We will meet again in the next chapter !
