a/n: I was going to post something for a different pairing (KomuixMiranda), but then I realized that as it's his birthday today, Lavi deserved a celebratory make out with Allen. xD So, forgive me, this was written extremely quickly (August 10th is almost over, after all!) and with minimal proof reading. Sorry about that.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Forever
The world was ending. It had to be, because why else would Allen willingly be kissing Lavi, and why else would Lavi be kissing him back? Somewhere in the back of his mind something was complaining. You can't be doing this, idiot! As a Bookman...
But, Allen's hands were in his hair, and his lips were pushed even closer, and Lavi quickly lost his train of thought. Eventually, the two teenagers stopped, gasping for air, and Lavi slowly collected his thoughts...and immediately wished he hadn't.
"We...this...no, I'm a Bookman," He tried saying, the lack of oxygen and hormones leaving this thoughts somewhat scrabbled.
Allen, however, seemed to understand him perfectly, because he responded, indignantly. "I can't take it anymore! It's just fair. There's more to you than just 'Bookman's Junior'." He sounded slightly disgusted while saying the last few words.
Lavi almost laughed. The idea that fairness even factored in at all was silly; the idea that he could be more than Bookman's apprentice was sillier still. Allen tried to kiss him again, and Lavi pulled away. "You know we're going to leave eventually. This war isn't going to last forever, we won't need to record this forever."
Allen's face fell, and Lavi remembered belatedly how so many of the exorcists took Bookman and his apprentice for granted, assuming that they would always be on their side, fighting with them. Then, the younger boy seemed to come to a decision, and his clouded face cleared up. "Then, I'll come with you! Or, tell me where you're going, and I'll write you letters every day."
Both Lavi and Allen knew that that was impossible. Knew that there was no way Lavi could tell Allen where they would be going next, or what his new alias would be. Still, Lavi's face softened, and he smiled slightly at the naive thought.
Allen sighed, as if he knew what Lavi was thinking. "Look," He said, more serious than before. "I know this isn't going to last forever. I don't have any expectations like that, I'm not asking for that. I just want right now. While it's still possible."
Lavi wanted that too, knew that he wanted it, and felt his resolve softening. How many times have I imagined this scenario? He reached out, and touched the side of Allen's face, before leaning in and kissing him again, softer than before. So, it was only temporary. So, he wasn't used to just being him, not a personality and fake name.
It was now just him (not Bookman Junior anymore.) and Allen kissing urgently, trying to fit all that could have happened to them in a different world into a few stolen kisses. But still, it was more than he had ever hoped for. Amidst all of it, this moment, was perfect.
a/n: Happy birthday, Lavi!
