Black Fury

Chapter 1

Thump, thump, thump, thump. The pounding of his heart all he could hear above the deathly silence that remained from his hallucinations. Even barely being able to comprehend his actions he was still aware that his instincts were literally screaming about the danger of his situation but overriding those instincts was the need to soothe his aching and burning throat. So slowly he started crawling towards the still surface of the black liquid surrounding the tiny isle he was on. Sensing his faithful companion behind him wringing it's hands in worry, he regained his senses long enough to hand him the treasure that was the sole reason of his predicament. Before he could consider his situation even more, he finished the last stretch, dipping a hand in the cool liquid he brought it to his lips, instantly regaining clarity of mind.

With panic in his eyes, he realized that he had to get out of there at that very instant. Running over to his miniature companion he grabbed its hand before trying to twist away only for his apparition to fail. Noting that the dark liquid, because he realized now that there was no way that it was simply water, was bubbling all around the piece of land he was on, dread began to fill him as he realized that he may not make it out of the cave alive. Looking around the glint of the metal in his small friend's hand, he realized that there was something more important than just him getting out. Seeing the first sign of a pale rotting hand stretching out of the liquid depths, he steeled himself.

"Kreacher!" he shouted amongst the chaos around him.

"Yes Master?" The house elf replied.

"Leave and take that locket to Sirius and tell him I said Horcrux." The dark haired man demanded before casting a few incindios.

Not hearing the pop signifying an elf apparition, he quickly looked back at the being that seemed to be trembling, as if he was trying to disobey his order.

"KREACHER GO! That MUST be destroyed at all cost and there may even be more! TELL HIM TELL Sirius that I am sorry! He all but screamed at the inferi began enclosing on his position.

With one last look of defiance, the magic behind his Master's order overrode him and he popped away.

The man breathed a small sigh of relief before turning fully towards his adversaries casting as many flame based spells and banishers to try and clear the monsters away from his position so that he would possibly have a chance to make it out. As time wore on he started to become more and more fatigued. Casting for at least a half an hour straight at the volume of spells he was being required to output took its toll and as he was going to cast yet another spell he felt a cold clammy hand digging hard into his ankle. Quickly throwing a cutter to remove the foreign appendage and lighting the offender aflame, he began turning towards the rest before being accosted by yet another body slamming into his back. As he tried pushing it off to get back to his feet he noted that he was completely surrounded by the abominations. Realizing that this was the end for him, he quickly decided that there was only one last way that he could get back at the fiend that he had served.

"FIENDFYRE!" He shouted as his world faded to blackness.

At a Cottage in Godrick's Hollow

A family of three and a friend were enjoying a relaxing evening together. Two dark haired men were shooting multicolored bubbles at the raven-haired, emerald-eyed baby that was sitting in his mother's lap, as he giggled and tried smacking his hands into the colorful display. The squeals of delight bringing large smiles to the faces of the adults around him. Suddenly a loud pop interrupted the scene as a sobbing house elf entered the room.

The adults reacted instantly pulling their wands to face the intrusion while the woman quickly took cover with her child. Suddenly one of the men straightened up with a look of utmost confusion on his face as he recognized the creature.

"Kreacher? What are you doing here?" The man questioned, taken aback by the distraught elf.

The elf seemed to slightly collect himself enough to reply, "Master Reggi make me leave him. Master Reggi make Kreacher come to bad Master Siri and give him this."

As he said that, he held up a golden locket with a snake motif on the face.

Sirius took a step forward, reaching for the locket he noticed the filthy aura surrounding the item. Quickly conjuring a pouch, he levitated the artifact from the elf's hand before placing it inside the bag, casting a few charms on it to keep the aura from escaping the pouch. Looking back towards the elf hoping to get an idea for why his brother would have this sent to him, he asked the elf, "Kreacher, why did he tell you to bring me this? Why did he not bring it to me himself?"

Hearing the last part of the question, the diminutive elf burst into more sobs as he struggled to reign in his grief. After a couple minutes he calmed down enough to answer, "Master Reggi be attacked by the monsters. The pale men from the cave. He say to tell bad Master Siri that he was sorry and to tell bad Master horcrux. "

Upon the last word, Sirius paled dramatically, he began to stammer out, "H-hor-horcrux. You are sure that is what he said?"

"Yes bad master, he said you need be destroying it." The elf said. Having finished his missive, he popped away going to mourn his deceased master.

The Black heir stood in the room, frozen in shock.

Suddenly a voice came from behind, "Pad, what does he mean? What is a Horcrux?"

The sudden masculine voice of his best friend/brother startled him from his stupor. Turning to face the other two adults, he met both of their eyes before saying in a quiet voice. "James, Lily, it is the worst type of magic there is. It is a pure abomination of everything that magic is supposed to be."

A/N: Just a little something that came to mind. Let me know what you think.
