After Hermione and Ginny were killed by Bellatrix at the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron and Harry were devasted. They found comfort in each other and eventually their already present bromance blossomed into something more.
Ron and Harry were out for brunch at their favorite breakfast place. Harry was munching on a syrupy Belgium waffle. Ron was drinking a Bloody Mary and thinking about Mary Abbott, the crazy, masochistic witch from Ireland, who Bloody Mary is based on.
Earlier that day Harry and Ron had gone to the gym and taken a run. Throughout their whole workout Harry had been acting strange. He wasn't his usual light-hearted self. It was if he was deep in thought.
It worried Ron when Harry got quiet. He didn't want Harry slipping into that dark place he was in after the Battle of Hogwarts. Even though Harry had destroyed Voldemort and saved thousands of lives, he felt extremely guilty. Harry felt it that the deaths' of Hermione, Ginny, Lupin, Fred, Tonks and countless others should be on his conscience. Ron and Neville tried to console Harry, but it was no use. It wasn't until Harry and Ron shared their first kiss that Harry started to recover.
"Harry, are you all right?" questioned Ron. Harry looked up from his plate.
"Umm… Ya. I think so. You want to go camping this week? I got a spot I have been dying to go to for years," said Harry wistfully.
"I don't know, Harry I have a lot of work this week. I don't think I can take the week off." Ron could see Harry's momentary smile vanish. "But, I'll see what I can do. Okay?"
"Alright," replied Harry. Harry stared back down at his waffles. Ron was very concerned. He understood that they were nearing the anniversary of the day Harry destroyed Voldemort and Harry usually got emotional at that time but not like this. Usually, he liked to talk about his feelings and share good memories about the people who lost their lives.
Tonight Ron planned to sit down with Harry and talk about what was going on. Maybe if Harry got whatever was on his mind off his chest, he would feel better. Maybe it was a good idea to take the week off and just have some alone time. Him and Harry, that wouldn't be bad if he could coax whatever was going on out of Harry. Or maybe he could use a truth spell.
