A/N: Mineral Town fan fic!

His stocky figure pushed open the cabin door to reveal to the public a green face gained from the rocking of the sea and bad food. A large carpet bag was clutched in a rather chubby hand. Luckily enough for him, no one saw him, save the cabin boy, who was leading him above deck in order to catch his first sight of Mineral Town.

The tossing and turning of the sea was enough to make anyone sick. Jack was no exception. However, the voyage was necessary, for his grandfather had died. Although he only had a few hazy memories of Mineral Town, he was eager to refresh his memories by taking over the family farm.

The ship captain stood at the prow of the ship looking out at the sea. He seemed unperturbed by the state of his passenger. They both looked out at sea. They had stood there for a full five minutes without talking until at last Jack saw a glimpse of a small land mass looming ahead of them.

"Yep." The captain said, reading his mind, "That's Mineral Town 'fer yeh. Small but purdy- lookin' a'righ." Jack nodded mutely.

Ten minutes later, Jack ran down the deck and flung himself upon the ground; bag and dignity forgotten. Someone not too far away giggled. Jack quickly got up and brushed the sand from his clothes, looking around. A girl around 17 with rather pale, pink hair was sitting on the railing of the walkway, skirts in her hand. She deftly jumped down and, not missing a step, she walked up to Jack.

"Hi- my- name's- Popuri- what's- yours?" She said all rather quickly.

"I didn't catch that, sorry?" said Jack politely. This was the first impression he was going to make, so might as well be good one, he reasoned.

"Errr… Popuri… that's my name." she said looking rather disconcerted that Jack didn't hear her. Getting up quickly and brushing off the sand on his clothes, he reached out his hand to shake hers.

"Nice to meet you, my name's Jack."

"Well, would you like a tour of our beautiful town? I'm sure you'll like it—everyone does! Well… then again, if they didn't like it, they'd probably move out…haha…"

And with that, Jack picked up his scanty trunk and dragging it across the sand, he made his way to an old beaten down farm with an overgrown field, not knowing he would commit everything; down to his very last breath to it…

A/N: ehhh cheesy end of chapter… oh well…
