I decided to try the 100 Themes Challenge for some good story ideas, soo here goes.
60. Rejection

Wally was sitting on the kitchen counter eating from a tub of ice cream, with a frown plastered across his face. Dick walked over to Wally and sat on the counter with him.
"What's wrong Wally? You like you got dumped." He said jokingly.
Wally sighed as he layed back as far as he could. "Close enough to being dumped."
"What happened?" Dick asked as he grabbed a spoon and took some ice cream.
"Well I kinda asked Artemis out today."
Wally could tell Dick was staring at Wally intensly from behind his shades.
"You told me just last week that you , how did you put it? 'Hated her with an extreme burning passion?' What happened?"
"I don't know. I hate her so much that I guess I like her now." Wally tried to make sense of it, but he was confused himself. "Anyway, I tried asking her out today, and she shot me down!"
Wally shoveled the cold treat into his mouth.
"Well how did you ask her out?"
"I went up to her and said 'Hey sugar, how 'bout you and I go out this weekend. We can do anything ya want.'"
"And she didn't go for it." Dick said in a flat, sarcastic tone.
"I know! Weird, right?"
Dick sighed as he shook his head. "You're an idiot."
"What?" Wally asked as he put a lid on the ice cream.
"Girls don't think you're as hot as you think you are. Especially Artemis. Ask her like a gentleman. I know it sounds stupid to you, but at least try it. I bet you 25 bucks that if you do it right, she'll say yes."
Wally rolled his eyes. "Fine. But if she shoots me down, you're paying for it."

Wally walked into the kitchen after asking out Artemis. Dick looked away from the T.V.
"So how'd it go?" He asked.
"I've got a date Saturday night." Wally said, victory walking over to the couch.
"Nice, so being a gentleman worked?"
"Yup!"
"that's great! So can I have my 25 bucks now?" Dick asked as he put his hands out for money.
"Uh yeah, about that." Wally zipped out of the room before he finished the sentence.

I know its super short and stupid, but I wanted to try it. I'm guessing I'm not doing the Challenge right, but oh well. Tell me what you think please!
