Another original Thomas story, this time it's "Waiting Time with James" with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

One morning, the engines were waiting in the sheds for Sir Topham Hatt to arrive.

James was most excited of all. Today, he was going to pull a very special special, as Sir Topham Hatt promised.

But today, James was feeling very impatient.

"Is Sir Topham Hatt here yet?" asked James.

"He'll be here soon." said the other engines every time James said this.

This made James very cross and red in the face.

Soon, James's driver and fireman arrived. They were surprised to see James cross.

"What's wrong James?" asked the fireman.

"I want to do my special special!" James snorted.

"It's okay James." said his driver. "We can help you be patient."

"But how?" asked James.

"I can tell you a story." said James's driver.

So James's driver began to tell a random story that he made up from his own imagination.

Carly was thinking about Nick again. Nick was a lovable king who was very friendly to all.

Carly walked over to the window and reflected on her sunny surroundings. She had always loved the beautiful Island of Sodor with it's lots and lots of railways. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel confident.

Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the lovable figure of Nick .

Carly gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. He was a generous, admirable, king with a 24 karat crown and black suit, which was very unique for a king. Her friends saw him as an adventurous, alert king. Once, she had even saved an exuberant owl that was stuck in a drain.

But not even a generous person who had once saved an exuberant owl that was stuck in a drain, was prepared for what Nick had in store today.

The sun shone, making Carly unstable. Carly grabbed a giant hat that had been strewn nearby; she massaged it with her fingers.

As Carly stepped outside and Nick came closer, she could see the powerful glint in his eye.

Nick gazed with the affection of 33 helpful fragile fish. He said, in hushed tones, "I love you forever, and I want you to marry me and give me a kiss.

Carly looked back, even more unstable and still fingering the giant hat.

"Nick, I will marry you."

Nick began to gleam.

"I love you even more" she replied.

They looked at each other with ecstatic feelings, like two combative, courageous people having fun at a birthday party, which had pop music playing in the background and two spiteful DJ's rocking to the beat.

Then the two kissed. They kissed and kissed for a very long time.

Soon the two got married, and lived happily ever after.

"How was that?" asked the driver.

"Is Sir Topham Hatt here yet?" asked James once again.

"Not yet." replied the driver.

"How about we sing a song?" suggested Thomas.

"No songs!" grunted Gordon. "It's too early in the morning.

"How about we sing the Engine Roll Call song?"

So James's driver began to sing.

They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight,
Shunting trucks and hauling freight.
Red and green and brown and blue,
They're the Really Useful crew.
All with different roles to play
'round Tidmouth Sheds or far away.
Down the hills and round the bends,
Thomas and his friends.

Thomas, he's the cheeky one,
James is vain but lots of fun.
Percy pulls the mail on time,
Gordon thunders down the line.
Emily really knows her stuff,
Henry toots and huffs and puffs.
Edward wants to help and share,
Toby, well, let's say, he's square!

As soon as James's driver finished singing, Sir Topham Hatt arrived. James was delighted to see him.

"I see you were all having fun this morning." he said. "James, your special special is waiting at Knapford Station.

James happily set off. He had learned that doing stuff is fun while you wait.
