Author's Note: A story about how deep the bonds of blood actually run, no matter how much one tries to deny them.

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Harry Potter. All the characters, the plot and the story-line belong to JK Rowling.

Sirius Black loved his cousin Bellatrix. Today, he hates her.

She went and joined the Dark Lord.

She betrayed his trust.

She became all that he loathed.

Yes, he hates her.

At least that's what he tells himself. Because no matter what, Sirius can never hate his cousin.

It's not because of his love for the woman, but because of his knowledge of her reasons.

Sirius Black knows why she did this. He knows this because her reasons are exactly the same as his.

Love. Loyalty. Sacrifice.

She loved the Dark Lord, just as he loved James.

Sirius loved James enough to die for him, to take his place inside that grave, but he knows James would never want that.

Bellatrix loved the Dark Lord enough to kill for him, to fill graves after graves of muggle-borns because that's what he asked of her.

She was loyal to her Lord, just as he was loyal to his brothers.

Sirius valued their trust more than his life. For him, he wouldn't breach it at any cost. He wouldn't disclose pranks, secrets or hideouts.

He would never have sold James' life to Voldemort.

Bellatrix valued her Lord's trust more than this entire world. Any wish of his was a command for her. She lives to fulfill his purpose, that her aim.

She would never leave his side even in the darkest of hours.

She sacrificed herself for her Lord, just as he sacrificed everything for his mates.

Sirius would give up everything for his friends, for his godson. Everything.

Sirius gave up everything for them. His family, his house, his wealth. For they were his greatest treasure. Even his life would have been a small price to pay.

No sacrifice would be too big, for they were the center of his whole universe.

Bellatrix would give up anything for him. His ambitions were her passion now.

Bellatrix gave up everything for him. Her family, her life, her sanity. She was content living for him. She wouldn't have regrets even if her life had to be given up.

No sacrifice would be too big, for he was the sole reason of her life.

Love. Loyalty. Sacrifice. It all ran too deep in the nerves of the two cousins.

That they were exiled to the dark fate of Azkaban was not the only common thing between the two.

Sirius and Bellatrix were more similar than he would have liked.

For in the end,the blood that ran inside their nerves bound them together.

The ties of blood are not easily severed.
