Disclaimer: DGray-Man may rule me but I do not own it.

Rating: PG

Author's note: because I was sat re-watching the episodes recently and this just came to me...so I wrote it. Sorry about the shortness, and Kanda's ranting ::haha::

Kanda will never understand Allen.

He does things and they make no sense and everything should go wrong but somehow he always prevails and turns things round and everything just falls in place. He makes everything right just by being there and Kanda can't understand how.

It frustrates him to no end.

Every mission he has ever been on with the boy should have ended in failure. Allen always gets in the way, he's stubborn and determined to do the 'right thing' that isn't right and puts everything in danger. He treats Innocence like something that can just be passed by, like it isn't important. Kanda knows better, Innocence is everything in their battle against the Earl.

But Allen would rather save some random person than protect it. And it drove him insane.

How could the idiot just forget their mission? How could he just run into everything with no thought other than to help people? It just...it made no sense.

So Kanda doesn't understand Allen at all.

But that doesn't mean he hates him. He's not so far gone as to say he loves the moyashi. Because he doesn't. He'd rather gut Allen than tell him he loves him. So while he doesn't necessarily hate the brat he doesn't love him. At all. Because that would be crazy.

Not that Allen doesn't make him crazy with his idiotic stunts, he makes promises, ones that he can't keep; some that he can but mostly he just keeps making them. Kanda thinks it's his most frequently phrased, "I promise I'll save you."

Kanda thinks that Allen is a liar.

But he also thinks that one day Allen will keep all of his promises and save everyone.

Because that's just the kind of stupid stunt he could pull off. And even though Kanda doesn't understand it, he knows that it's truth. Because it's Allen and nothing he does makes sense. It just...is.

end.
