A/N: This is a one shot about Olivia and her jogging. I came up with this idea after I ran about three miles and needed to do a character sketch on a TV character for English. This was what I wrote. I don't think I will add to this at all because it does better by itself.
Jogging Memories
Olivia sat on her couch and stared blankly at the TV. There was nothing on at seven except for a Friends rerun which Olivia had already seen. This was unusual for her though, she was off from work, and had nothing to do. Elliot was off visiting his kids, so they couldn't go and get a drink. Olivia debated calling Casey, but knew that the ADA probably had to work until at least nine tonight. Eventually, boredom got the best of her, and she decided to go for a jog in the park.
Within fifteen minutes, Olivia was changed and walking out of her apartment down to Central Park. It was a nice day for a run. The air was warm, but frequently, a cool breeze moved the air around. For Olivia, jogging helped her to clear her head. All of the people around her at work had to have some method to relieve themselves of the horrors that they witness every day. Olivia had more to relieve than just the stress of her job though. She was constantly fighting the internal battle of her own life and existence. Knowing that she was the product of a brutal rape, Olivia was always throwing around possible reasons why her mother, Sereena had kept her, instead of getting an abortion like she had done for at least three other babies.
Olivia settled into a rhythm as she jogged.
Swish, Swish, Swish, Swish she heard as her jacket rubbed against her sides. She could feel her leg mussels complain as she urged herself harder. Sometimes pain was a good thing. It meant that she still had some feeling in her body. Just yesterday, she had seen an eight year old girl who was raped and murdered. The scary part was that Olivia had not shown any emotion. That feeling did come with the job, but that was a scary feeling. Her legs burned at this point, but she still pressed on. She had to think about life. This was one way to do it so that she didn't go crazy.
"Maybe she felt guilty about her abortions, and wanted to keep one baby," the thoughts were beginning to flow now.
"Possibly, by the time she realized she was pregnant, it was too late," Olivia contemplated.
"Maybe…." The thoughts were hard to hear. Olivia stopped thinking, but continued running. She was almost done with her jog when a thought came up which hadn't before.
"Maybe she wanted somebody to love her unconditionally," she thought.
"Well Mom, if that's it, you got you wish," Olivia said aloud. She stopped running and headed towards her apartment for some take-out dinner.
