Day 6 - Always Attract

"My heart is out at sea,
My head all over the place.
I'm losing sense of time,
And everything tastes the same
I'll be home in a day,
I fear that's a month too late."

-

He was anxious. He was waiting at the airport, his leg bouncing up and down. His palms were sweaty. He was going to be home finally. He hadn't seen his wife in a month, and that was a month too long. He checked his watch. Was time even moving?

Finally, what seemed like months later, his flight number was called. He boarded the plane and tried to sleep. Sleep would not overcome him. Just three more hours ... three more hours ...

She was sitting alone at a bar. She was sipping her drink and sighing loudly. She was lonely, tired, and she was sick of being alone. Her husband was gone for a month and she needed him. She hurt deeply and she just wanted the warm arms of her husband surrounding her.

She needed a man. She needed her man. But tonight, any man would do.

His taxi pulled up outside of his drive and he got out. He paid the driver, shook his hand, and walked up the dirt strip. The sound on the familiar crunch of the gravel sounded great. Sounded like home. He opened the front door to his house. Something was missing. Something was off. His wife was quiet. He expected her to greet him at the door with a hug and kisses.

"Lil?" He called.

-

Shit. That was the only word going through her mind as she let the stranger touch her breasts. As she let the stranger kiss down her neck and let his mouth cover them. Shit shit shit.

She rolled over, pushing the stranger under the bed.

"Stay hidden," she hissed, and then raised her voice, "In here!"

The door opened, and light from the hall flooded the dark room, illuminating her naked figure on the bed. She was posed as if to say, I was waiting for you, but she wasn't. She was fearing him. He took off his tie,

"I missed you so much Lily. I couldn't wait to get home, I almost cut my trip short," he went on.

Lily's throat closed in. She couldn't believe what she had resorted to. She could have waited three hours. She wasn't that lonely.

"I missed you, too," she choked out, "More than you'll ever know."

He sighed and layed on the bed, in his boxers.

"I'm so tired, baby," he said, placing a kiss on her lips, "I just want to wrap you in my arms and sleep,"

"James I ..." Lily started, but stopped, "I'm glad you're home," she kissed his lips and curled up in his side.

The stranger crawled from in under the bed and crawled out of the room, being sure not to open or close the door. He glanced in at the couple and shook his head. That man loved that girl, but she was willing to cheat on him. He sighed, being the perpetrator in the little infidelity crime that was just committed. He was so sorry ... so sorry.
