[A/N: I based a lot of this off of Noel MacNeal's theory on how Bear met Luna, but some of it was entirely my own ideas/interpretation. You know how, when the whole song of "What's in the Mail Today?" is sung, the pictures that go along with mentions of his family are of humans rather than bears? Well, that's why I figure Bear must've been adopted as a cub. And in the episode "Magic in the Kitchen", Luna mentions that Bear loved those banana berry whole wheat pancakes since he was little, which is probably something Noel told them to stick in there (he had some say in stuff for the show), as it definitely goes along with his theory that he met Luna when he was a cub. This story is, like I said, heavily based off of Noel's theory, but with a few added touches of my own. For instance, in the transcript of the interview that he said that theory in (as well as that he had say in stuff, and stuff like that), he never said just what exactly Bear might have been talking to himself about before meeting Luna, and, as I said before, I interpreted that he was probably adopted when he was a cub. Please don't bum me out with ultra-reminders of what happened to Lynne Thigpen, because I already know, and it's sad, and I like focusing on the happy stuff. Okay? Okay. Enjoy the story, please rate and review!]
When I was a cub, I was walking around outside one night, talking to myself. It was about three months after I'd gotten adopted (that's another story entirely – I'll save that one for another time), and I was talking to myself about my new family. I eventually got talking about that day in particular, about how just because my new parents weren't bears doesn't mean that I can't teach them recipes that are traditional for bears to cook (such as banana berry whole wheat pancakes), about how we cooked them together, about how we ate them together, and about how good they were. All of a sudden, I realized I was being responded to by someone other than just myself.
A woman's voice said, "Well, that sounds lovely, Bear!".
I looked around for the sound's source. All of a sudden, I realized...the moon had a face! And a voice!
"Oh, hi there! Wow! I didn't know you could talk! That's pretty cool! So...what's your name?"
"My name is Luna."
"Hello, Luna!"
And from that moment on, we were friends forever.
[A/N: Let me know what you guys think of my story! I bet you folks can't wait until I write Bear's adoption story, huh?]
