Summary: Queen Elsa's adopted daughter Elizabeth visits her in the middle of the night on her ship. Elize welcomes her back to Arendelle. Short One-Shot.

Welcome home, Mother

It's a warm Sunday evening, a week has passed since she left for that trip to Corona. Queen Elsa of Arendelle was finally returning home. Everyone back in Arendelle was excited for the next day, mostly the Queen's daughter Princess Elizabeth. She was desperate to see her adoptive mother again. Even if it killed her.

Elsa wanted to see her family. Elizabeth was her main concern. Her daughter was so upset and apprehensive when she had to leave for Corona. Elsa could remember her tears and her breaking voice, "Do you have to go, Mother?" Elizabeth's soft voice made her recall the last time she saw her parents before they passed in a vicious storm. At least this was different, she's alive and well, and is returning safe and sound.

The adopted girl couldn't hold her anxiety anymore. She had to see Elsa. Making sure no one was in the corridor, Elizabeth walked past Princess Anna's room, then Kristoff's room. Her feet were quiet as she walked, careful not to make a sound.

Once she was out of the castle and in the gardens, she started searching for a barred part, which she can sneak out of. After ten minutes of searching she finally found a barred part of the large garden wall. She moved two pieces to the side then slipped her slim body through. At least she didn't forget to cover her tracks.

She snuck to the harbor. No guards were alerted... Yet...

Elizabeth jumped from the wooden platform onto a large rock. Then another, this time a bit smaller. Then another. The last one made her slip and fall in, causing a loud splash. That certainly wasn't a sound the guards were expecting to hear. They searched for the source.

Nothing. Elize disappeared into the depths of the dark water.

She searched for the Arendellian ship that had her mother in it. It took her a little bit to find a silhouette of a ship. The shadow that blocked off the moonlight drew her attention towards it. Elizabeth ascended up to the surface only revealing her wet hair and glowing purple eyes.

The designs of the ship were clearly Arendellian. This was definitely her adoptive mother's ship. She just knew it.

"...I know my adopted daughter and my sister would be happy to see me. I just know it. They have no idea on how much I missed them during the trip." She heard a soft voice say. It was the Queen's.

Mother...

Elizabeth beamed at the sound of Elsa's voice. She tried to get Elsa's attention by knocking on the wooden stern of the ship. No luck, Elsa passed it off as just a sailor walking. She tried to think of something else. She couldn't think of anything but just try to climb up to see Elsa face-to-face. So she did just that.

She conjured up a small ladder so she could pull herself out of the water and a platform so she doesn't have to sit on the edge of the stern.

The Queen wasn't paying attention to the girl climbing underneath her until she felt a soft webbed, wet hand on hers. She looked down to find Elizabeth sitting on an icy platform. Her eyes widened. She didn't expect Elize to sneak out of the castle and go swimming in her mermaid state just to find her.

"Elizabeth... Wh-What are you doing here?" She asked. Her daughter smiled but didn't answer. Elsa embraced the teenage mermaid tightly. Elizabeth was soaking wet of course, but the Queen didn't care. At all.

Elizabeth murmured in Elsa's ear, "Welcome home Mother."
