Orinoco Flow

By: Grey Wolf

Disclaimer: Methos does not belong to me. I know it's tragic but that's the way things are. He never listened to my anyway when I told him it's a bad idea to sell himself… Anyway the song belongs Enya

Note: Gee what to say… This is one of my favourite songs. This is about Methos wanting to show he's dying girlfriend, whose name I don't know, the world.

I ran my fingers through her hair where she laid asleep on my chest. She was so frail, like all mortals are but from all the mortals and immortal lovers I ever had my heart will miss her the most. I wish I could give my immortally to her. I wish I could send her down the river of time with no care for sickness and age and let her enjoy what live has offered me through the ages.

let me sail, let me sail, let the orinoco flow,

let me reach, let me beach on the shores of Tripoli.

let me sail, let me sail, let me crash upon your shore,

let me reach, let me beach far beyond the Yellow Sea.

That's the problem with being a 5000 year old immortal, you get so bloody tired of living with death. I wish there was no such thing sometimes. That all could live forever but that would never be possible because in the end there can be only one.

from Bissau to Palau -  in the shade of Avalon,

from Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,

from Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,

from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea.

Oh love I wish I could have eternity to show you the stars, to teach you their names. I wish I could show you the ruins of Avalon and the place where Arthur rested his head into the eternal sleep. I wish I had time enough to show you the world that was been buried in myth and legend. Oh how I wish you didn't have to die.

from the North to the South, Ebudae into Khartoum,

from the deep sea of Clouds to the island of the moon,

carry me on the waves to the lands I've never been,

carry me on the waves to the lands I've never seen.

I know what my final gift to you is gonna be, I will show you the world. I will show you life and happiness while yours is slowly draining away.

I run my fingers through her hair again and touch my fingers gently to her lips. She stirs from the dreams that had brought a smile to her face and gave me an even bigger one. She looked like and angel. In a few months or years she would be one I reminded myself sadly.

"Good morning." I greeted as lightly touched my lips to her forehead. "Get packed we're going on a trip" She looked at me with wide eyes and I kissed her again "I'm going to show you the world."

we can sail, we can sail...

we can steer, we can near with Rob Dickins at the wheel,

we can sigh, say goodbye Ross and his dependencies

we can sail, we can sail...

-A week later-

We where on a cruise ship to the Caribbean and even though her skin was pale with the sickness her hair was alive with the wind. I was glad I had made this decision; the moments I would have with her on this trip would carry me another 5000 years and even to the end of my days.

I might not be able to live my life with her, but my memories of her will keep me warm when she is gone…

The End
