Mario was feeling down. Luigi had gone to seek his fortune, Bowser and Princess Peach had eloped and Toad... well, he never really liked Toad that much.

He was slumped in a beanbag feeling sorry for himself when the phone rang. "Hey M," rasped a familiar voice on the end.

"Mr. Game and Watch!" said Mario. "Long time no speak, my man. How you doin'?"

"You know how it is," said Mr. Game and Watch. "Jumping a manhole, flippin' sausages... Same old, same old. So listen, you coming out for a few Buds?"

"Uh, sure," said Mario. "Wait, Wario's not gonna be there, is he?"

"Nah, man. Haven't you heard? Wario got put away. Got too greedy, tried a bank job."

"No way!" chortled the plumber. "We've got some catching up to do, man!"

"True," said Mr. Game and Watch. "True."
