I Need You Now

A Song-Fic to "I Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum

'Picture perfect memories, scattered all around the floor...'

Raven stared a the photographs like they were memories in my mind. His flawless, clear skin. His spikey, perfect black hair. His effortlessly amazing figure. He was so... so unimaginably beautiful. Why had she let go of this... this God? He slipped through her finger this rain drops puddling down a drain, and slowly disappeared from her heart. Since then, nothing was ever the same. The moon didn't shine as bright at the dead of a cold, dark night. Two birds soaring through the sky didn' give off the same vibe of irony when her gazing, violet eyes peered towards them. It was all less in the world without him. Impaired.

Her eyes drifted over to her cellular phone.

'Reachin` toward the phone `cause, I can't fight it anymore...'

She slowly, carefully, stood herself up on stepped to it. She flipped the gadget open and scrolled through the contacts, until she came to the letter 'R.'

That was it.

No name, just the letter.

It was how she remembered him. It was the patch sewn onto his uniform all those years. Onto that terrible, wearable stoplight of a uniform. The first time she saw it, and she didn't dare admit it, she couldn't help but to giggle at it. For such a sophisticated, serious hero like Richard, it seemed so off to have such an obscenely bright uniform such as that.

Of course, now that was no problem. He now wore a dark, black jumpsuit deal with a large blue bird on the chest. From the pictures in papers and on television she had seen though, he had kept his signature, amazing hair. It was how she recognized him, aside from the mask. It was so familiar it earned immediate recognition from anyone in Jump City or Gotham.

She wondered if he still remembered her.

'And I wonder, if I, ever cross your mind...

for me it happens all the time.'

She set the phone down and walked out of her room, into the hall of her small apartment. She has long given up the hero business, and decided to settle down a little, on her own atleast. It was something she always told herself she would do; even as a child. Escape Azarath and her father, and live out somewhere by herself. It was her life plan, she accomplished it. Though she didn't feel as, complete, as she should have with it.

She opened a hall closet, snatched a black, zip up hoodey, and walked over to the front door. With a sigh, she left out into the rainy abyss we call the world.

A/N: Short, sweet, to the point. Was going to do the rest of the song from Robin's perspective, but I'm lazy. ^^
