Author's Note:I thought up this idea as its Veteran's Day and I wanted to thank all of our Veterans who have served our country with great distinction. So if you know a Veteran, be sure to thank them for their service to our country.—DarthGladiator45
Obi-Wan Kenobi sat in his hut remembering the last days of the Clone Wars and the men he led into battle and those Jedi Masters that had perished, including his own padawan and brother. He allowed a few tears to slip down his face as he remembered the horrors of that war but also the proud moments of true bravery for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and even those who would continue to serve for freedom and democracy in the rebel alliance. He often thought about his padawan who was always ready to enter into aggressive negotiations, he smiled at the thoughts of him always ready to do battle, but even toward then end he was getting tired that the men he was leading that were dying on a daily basis. Obi-Wan prayed that one day all wars would come to an end and that a new beacon of freedom would shine like the brightest star.
Darth Vader also reflected on his service to the Republic as a Jedi Knight, he believed he was fighting for freedom and for all to be secure. He didn't agree with the Emperor's plans for the Death Star he believed that if men's lives were to be taken it should be eye to eye and face to face. He was approached by two of his officers. Captain Piett and General Veers knew that Lord Vader served his Emperor and even though he was difficult to approach at best, the fearlessly walked up to him and thanked him for his continued service to the Empire and they shook his hand. It took a lot to surprise Lord Vader, but these men's actions certainly did. He knew that they were decent and honorable men and didn't go to the depths that most did to ingratiate themselves onto the Dark Lord. When he returned from his chambers that afternoon, he brought a tray of shot glasses and a bottle of Corellian Whisky, he asked Captain Piett and General Veers to join him in the conference room. He couldn't partake of the whisky without removing his helmet and in his hyperbaric chamber. Capt. Piett and Gen. Veers were pleasantly surprised and all three men toasted to all the brave men in this war and in past wars for their bravery.
