A/N: I kinda liked Seaver's character, or at least the potential she had so I decided to write this story is set after episode 06x22 "Out of the Light" and has Ashley facing Hotch about what he has done in the weeks following Emily's death, calling him out on the fact that he hasn't started to mourn her. AU Where Hotch and Emily are married, set in the same universe as my other story "Can't stop him again" but can stand completely seperate.

Enjoy:)

Disclaimer: I don't own them, sadly...

~Death wish~

Aaron sat on the plane thinking of what happened today, he jumped into the lake after Morgan, and he knew that the younger man could handle it. He knew that no matter what he said to the team, or himself Morgan would have been just alright. He thinks back to his actions in the last few weeks and almost cringed. He was somewhat thankful that Emily wasn't here. She would have ripped him a bright new one! He was too absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't saw Ashley walking towards him, neither sitting on the empty seat across from him.

"Sir!" he snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her "Se…Ashley" he had no clue why he called her Ashley and not Seaver; she always was Seaver after all.

"Can I ask you something sir?" he nodded to her to go on and she took a deep breath. "I know you are mourning the loss of your wife and I know that you and Agent Pren… that you and Emily were talking about starting a family together. That used to be what she talked the most about. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling, but I know for sure that this team can't survive to lose another member. I… I got close enough to Agent Rossi those past few weeks and I saw how much the loss of Agent Jareau professionally had cost him and I can guess that it was the same for the rest of the team, especially if I judge how long it took the team to trust me and let me in. and although I didn't know Emily that well I really liked her and respected her. She made a great impact in my life."

"I don't get where you are going"

"Alright I'll be straight, do you have a death wish sir?" he opened his mouth to answer but she stopped him. "You walked into a hostage situation with no gun, no vest and no back up. The UnSub was in psychotic; she was unstable and could have shot you and possibly killed you. And still you walked in with no regard for your life and then again less than a week after you walked into another hostage situation with an equally unstable UnSub, a junior agent with no gun as your back up and without your gun. At least this time you had a vest on but the time it took to actually move out of the way of the bullet's way it scared me, a lot. And now this? You jumped after Morgan into a frozen cold lake and into a situation that he could have handled it just as well alone. I worry about you sir and I'm not the only one. You need to talk to somebody, start the mourning process. A unit chief with a death wish, or on a suicide mission or with a God complex, or whatever else you might have going on is no good to anyone and most of all it's not any good for you"
