Chapter 1
The next afternoonafter Rry drops out of college Lorelai is walking around the inn trying to distract herself about not thinking about Rory or anything that has happened from the day before when she walks into the restaurant and sees her 17 year old daughter sitting in a chair at a tbale squeezing her stress ball.
Lorelai gasps ''Wha...what are you doing?'' Lorelai asks her
''oh hi mom.'' her daughter says
''what are you doing out of school and why?'' Lorelai asks her angrily
''I was too upset to stay there so I signed myself out and came here.'' her daughter tells her
''you shouldn't be here you should be at school! I'm not letting you follow in your sister's footsteps!'' Lorelai tells her madly
''there was no reason to sign yourself out without my permission! There's only an excuse for real family emergencies only!'' Lorelai yells at her madly
''but we do have a real family emergency!'' her daughter yells back
''no we don't! Lorelai says upsetly
''yes we do I heard everything you and dad said last night!'' her daughter tells her
Lorelai scofts ''no you didn't.'' Lorelai says
''yes I did I was upstairs at dad's and was coming out of his apartment to go home when I heard you come in so I just sat at the top of the steps and listened and cried.'' her daughter tells her
''oh I didn't even know you were here.'' Lorelai tells her
''yea I didn't go home last night. I was just too upset so I just spent the night here upstairs by myself.'' her daughter tells her
''I was too afraid to go home after you left because you were so upset and mad about Rory that I just figured thing's at home would be worse.'' her daughter tells her
''oh.'' Lorelai says and sits down calmy and gently squeezes her daughters hand with her stress ball in it to get her relaxed so she knows Lorelai is there for her
''so?'' Lorelai asks her
''so?'' her daughter questions her
''are you hungry?'' Lorelai asks her
''a little bit.'' her daughter tells her
''okay well lets order shall we?'' Lorelai asks her
''okay.'' her daughter says and picks up a menu
Lorelai picks up a menu and looks at her daughter concerned and worried because she's so concerned,upset,and worried about everything.
