This is an additional scene to the movie Fight Club that I wrote. Marla just came back from when The Guy (or Tyler) made her leave the city for safety. Confused, she left, but came back at the very end... Here is the movie continuing...
He looked in disbelief at her. Her hair was even more messy that usual and a scape was cradled by her smooth cheek. Oh, how he longed to run his finger across her face. Warm blood slid down his hand as he held his face. She's Back. He thought. She's really back. He starred into her soft eyes which soon filled with tears.
"What happened to you?" She managed to say.
"I, uh... well, I kinda shot myself." Smooth, he though.
She ran to him, wrapping her arms around him. He felt her closer than ever before. Her breath. Her heart beat. Her chest heaving as tears streamed.
"Why... how did... are you okay?" Words seemed hard for her to find. But were they all that necessary? She was with him now. The same man who screwed her and screwed her over. The same man who kicked her out of his house. The same man who made her leave the city. The same man who saved her, protected her and loved her.
"You're back," he crocked. "Sorry, Marla. I am so sorry."
She felt his sorrow soak through to her. She felt his blood on her hand. Why the hell did he do this? she asked herself. What in God's name was he thinking? If only she knew.
"Why did you do this?" She asked. "Why did you shoot yourself?"
"It doesn't matter now. You're here and everything's fine."
"It does to matter. You don't just shoot yourself one minute and forget about it the next," Marla was getting angry. "How stupid can you be? I'm not even that stupid. What the fuck were you thinking?"
Silence
They starred at each other. He looked into her big, brown eyes with quit sadness. She looked into his, going from anger to a sudden understanding. She knew why he did it. She once tried to kill herself, too. Though he was there to save her. Now it's my turn to save him. She thought.
"I want you to know that I love you, Marla." A pain erupted in her stomach, rising into her chest. Something she'd never felt before. The pain turned to a fiery tingle which filled her body. Her stomach and her chest. Her fingers and her toes. Her heart and her soul. She stood, held close in his arms. Her face was pressed against his chest as she closed her eyes and said "That's why I came back."
