Axel wasn't a sappy sentimental or anything, but he was observant

Umm… a little drably thing inspired by something I read in which it mentioned the flower blooming on Axel's jaw where Roxas hit him. Anyway, transferring this from my fanfic lj, www. thatnobodygrrl. livejournal. Com. So please review constructively!

Axel wasn't a sappy sentimental or anything, but he was observant. He noticed things, about life, about the Organization, about the thing he had going with Roxas. Things like… flowers. Now, far be it for him to sound like Marluxia, but he saw flowers all over their relationship.

Flowers, like the poppy made of blood on Roxas' sheets in the morning. It's actually more brown now, it's dried out.

And that's not the only kind of flower. There's the heavy, dark purple one on his jaw, where Roxas hit him for, quote, "being a jerk".

Now, while Axel saw all these things, he was pretty sure that Roxas didn't. That kid lived neither in the past nor the present, but in the future. Always thinking ahead, planning his next move, and never ever trusting anyone. Not even Axel.

So Axel's pretty sure that one day, the kid's just going to up and leave him there all alone with the Organization, but he's alright with that. What was he expecting, anyway? Kids don't know how to make a commitment.

Then again, Roxas never ceases to make him think. Like, sometimes he'll be so so sure about something, and then Roxas goes and tosses it all up into the air like nothing. Axel likes that. The sense of insecurity in his own head when he's around the younger boy.

So one morning, when Roxas walks out after a night of mindblowingly awesome sex, Axel's both surprised and not to see the hickeys on his shoulder deliberately placed to look like a flower.
