"Hey," Mac said, smiling as Beaver shifted nervously on her front step. "Wanna come in?"

"Uh, sure," He replied, stepping into the front hallway. "Uh, you ready to go?"

"Yeah. Where are we going? A secret 09er hangout?"

"Uhm, no. I, uhm, wasn't sure what you liked to do, so…"

"Let's watch the Video Game Awards!" Mac said excitedly.

"The what?" Beaver asked, looking nervous again.

Mac laughed as she tugged on his wrist and steered him toward her family room.

"Everyone's out. Don't worry." She said as Beaver looked around anxiously. "The Video Game Awards. Kind of like regular awards shows, but they're video games. It's awesome."

"Oh. Okay. That sounds good."

Mac felt Beaver shift slightly and felt his arm moving closer to her back, like it had been on and off for the past ten minutes.

"Cassidy?" She asked, muting the commercial. "Are you trying to put your arm around me?"

"Uhm…" He started. "I was, uhm…"

"It'd be, you know, okay if you did."

Mac sighed inwardly as she felt Beaver start to shift again, tensing his arm around her back and relaxing.

"Cassidy?" She asked, turning to face him.

"Yeah?" He asked, blushing.

Mac smiled at him and leaned in. She felt his eyelashes brush against her cheeks as he closed his eyes. Reacting quickly, she put more power into her kiss. Beaver would never know it, but she's wanted to do this all night long as well.

The date wasn't even over, but it was by far the best date she'd ever been on. She didn't even have to leave the house.
